Default Growth spurt but no weight gain

So in the past 6 months I've shot up from 5ft 7ish to 5ft 10" and have maintained 110lbs. I don't get it. Doc says I'm very underweight now which I knew anyway but I really thought I'd fill out more. I'm still dealing with a barely 24" waist too.

Puberty VT General Hospital, this fits better here as a more general medical question.

That does seem like you are quite underweight. It doesn’t sound particularly useful that your doctor told you that you’re very underweight without telling you why or investigating what’s causing it. A good place to start is your diet - is that ok?

I've gone from about 5'8" to 5'11" in the past several months, and my weight stays in the 235-240 range. I know my weight is due to meds that I have been on for the past few years. I'll turn 17 in 2 weeks and my doctors tell me that I may not be finished growing vertically just yet because those meds may have been affecting that.

You need to get started on a nutrition type diet. Also you should work out if you can and eat a good healthy diet with a lot of protein and carbohydrates. Try that and see if that helps. You can also get supplements from a nutrition store.

I am gay and happy with that.
I love talking to people very open & willing to listen.
I am also glad to try help with questions or problems.
Hit me up for anything. I promise I don't bite.

Thanks. I am desperate. I feel so frail lately. My underwear and clothing options are a total mess coz of my size.

U have to start eating more carbos and
foods that r high in protein to build some
muscle. Once u see any progress start
getting some exercise working out or
running. I have a friend who has a 26in.
waist and weighs 160 pounds which most
of it is muscle.

My GP has me booked in with a nutritionist as well. I've been told no cardio basically. But weights would be good. Oh man I'd actually give ANYTHING to have a 26" waist right now . I'm 23/24ish.

U mean no carbohydrates not "cardio".
Carbohydrates will put weight on but they can
break down the proteins defeating the purpose
of putting on lean muscle. That's why some people
need to balance it out. Too many carbos can also
lead to problems with blood glucose and end with
diabetes.
