Default Plato's Symposium

I am looking to get this book, but I do not know which translation is good. So if you have read it and remember the translator post it here.

Wow, Jaret, you are into some really DEEP philosophical reading.

There are probably hundreds of different translations out there. Which of them is better than the other is in the mind of the reader.

"At the touch of love everyone becomes a poet!"

"Son, when the Marine Corps wants you to have a wife, you will be issued one!"

I have not yet read it, but the copy I recently purchased is the Christopher Gill translation. It also includes commentary, which is helpful and something I look for in the works like this.

Dancer. Avid reader. Wannabe intellectual. Disillusioned, but not cynical.

"The world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel".

It's a good read especially if you like extemporaneous speeches on a variety of philosophic subjects. It's all drama. But it's Plato at his best, IMHO.
