Sorry, but there is no way for you to delete your account. We don't delete accounts, just take off your information and click the "sign off" button.

Why not? In the long run, you'll save space on the MySQL server

For what it's worth, it's better saving the account.

Why is it better to save the account rather than delete it?

Because the user may decide later on to come back. It doesn't hurt the site any more or less if it's gone or not.

If the person has a genuine reason for their account to be deleted then I can delete it, but some members do come back. For example he has posted since posting this, so I don't believe their is a good reason to have the account deleted.

A member can have many reasons to want their account removed, all from the legitimate to malicious. Unless a valid and sincere reason is discussed (privately if needed), a member's account will not be deleted. This also allows for the user to later return if their attitude toward the site changes. Basically, this is how we have done it, this is the way we will always attempt to do it.
Edit:
Of course, Alex, being the greatness that he is, has already posted something before I could, although I didn't know it because it happened while I was typing this message :P
