Search the forums, there's been quite a few informational threads recently on meth. To answer your question, it is definitely up there with many other very powerful and dangerous drugs, including cocaine and heroin. However, it is also very low quality as it's usually made in very unsanitary places and its ingredients are often household items that shouldn't be ingested.

I believe that people use scare tactics with meth because that's pretty much the only way to keep others from falling into addiction. You see, an amphetamine high is a bigger falsity than Bill Clinton's definition of "sex" (google it). You feel awesome when on amphetamines, and you believe that there's NO WAY it could be doing so much damage to your body when in fact it is.

Not all people turn into the "methheads" that you see in ads with their teeth falling out and their skin discolored. But the people that don't look like that are quite likely to if they continue to use it; either that or death occurs. Death is unexpected by its victim because of how awesome a person feels on meth.

Another property of amphetamines is quick tolerance. Meth addicts end up using inhumane levels of the substance because they are chasing the high that they got the first time. Eventually this chasing game (usually) ends in death when their brain needs more to feel high but their body can't take any higher level.

Don't go near it. Stick with caffeine to stimulate you.
