Alright I just wanted to make sure. I've always been a little fuzzy on the rules for VT.

Anyway, back to the point of the thread. I rarely get hangovers because 1) I have a high tolerance and 2) I take my shots early and then drink water for the rest of the night. However, two times stick out in my mind as absolutely terrible mornings-after.

The first time I was at a college party as a high schooler. Bad combo to begin with. They had tons of cheap vodka and I just went at it. I was planning on drinking and then having a friend drive me home. Well, after a vodka chugging contest and continuing to go after that, I was pretty much at the edge of my consciousness. As I was walking out of the party, I had some hits of a cig that people were smoking. This was the push off the cliff that I needed, and the last thing I remember was stepping into my friend's car. Long story short, I ended up unconscious at my house with my father thinking I was dying and basically flipping out. I woke up in the morning with a wicked 4-hour long hangover that I pretty much slept off and really scared parents who were surprised at my bad behavior (hadn't been caught before this).

The second time was more recent. I had friends over at my house and we had way too much alcohol between us, so everyone was pretty liberal with their amounts. My parents weren't home, obviously. Apparently I wasn't adamant enough about drinking excessive amounts of water (problem #1) and I only got a couple hours of sleep (problem #2). So I felt like shit in the morning and had to go to work for an all-day shift, which was very fun.

Other than these two times, I can't remember a single time when I've been hungover the morning after. Drinking water, sleeping, and sometimes taking an ibuprofen before falling asleep will pretty much prevent it for me.

Hmm...medicine with vodka is like digging your own grave.My friend did this once and ended at the hospital,was a close call.

As long as we don't get into "how do we hide booze from parents/cops", "dude, you should get drunk!" or anything like that, this thread is fine.

By no means do I encourage my techniques for avoiding hangovers, that's just what works for me. And your friend likely had Tylenol or something else with acetaminophen in it, which goes through the liver. NyQuil, Tylenol, etc. contain this and while it does help relieve pain, you should NEVER take it while your liver is busy getting the alcohol out of your blood. People often OD on acetaminophen because they pop a Tylenol and then take NyQuil later on, or something of that sort. It's a very dangerous drug.

I repeat: my advice above is for IBUPROFEN ONLY. Heed at your own risk.
