I usually do because I only get an hour of battery life.

I take the battery out and keep it plugged in.

the reason you only have an hour of batter life is because you keep it plugged in! leaving it charging shorts the battery out and makes its life much shorter. you need to use it until it dies, then plug it in but dont use it. leave it off and unplug it once its done. that should lengthen your batter life over time.

I usually leave it in until its fully charged then take it out and let it run down, its better for the battery and keeps it in better condition.

This.

It's /very/ bad for a battery to stay in a charged or non-charged state. They need to be cycled, and often.

Yes, Aaron is right.

I've ruined two laptops by keeping them almost constantly plugged in. The next one I get, I'm going to force myself to unplug it when it's fully charged etc.
My current laptop's battery is now basically destroyed, so that if I pull out the charger even for 1 second, it immediately turns off. So I just took the battery out all together and have to make sure I don't accidentally pull out the power cord.

We have only recently started the cycle of plugging it in and plugging it out because the AC adapter would often overheat if left plugged and unplug it when it's done. But now that I have read the posts here, I have now a stronger reason to continue this process. Good to know this before I my laptop battery dies completely. :P

I never knew keeping it always charged would be bad. I guess I have to do a cycle too

Running on battery cuts down performance on my laptop.

Nope unplug it once it's charged for above reasons. Although because I forget sometimes it now only charges up to 88% and runs down quicker. :/
Used to last 3 hours now lasts between 1 and a half hours to 2 hours. D:

I do because if I want to sit at my desk I can't have it plugged in because it doesn't reach. So if I don't have a full amount of charge when I want to go and sit at my desk then I have to move after a while and that is very annoying! >< Also I have a habit of breaking laptop chargers so I like to have some charge in case it happens again xD

I charge it until it gets to 100%, unless when I'm in school I need to charge it and take it out when it's time to change classes, and then I unplug it until it gets to about 7%. I love having a laptop that I need to use in my high school. It's so much better the books! xD

i only do it when it's low on battery because my dad says you can ruin the battery life if you keep it plugged up all the time, but idk

I'm afraid to carry my laptop around so it is pretty much stationary plugged in on my desk..

It's bad to plug it in until it's dead, it will kill your battery life. The best practice is to Charge it fully, drain it fully, power off, rinse and repeat.

This is inaccurate because once the laptop is plugged in it will automatically switch to direct DC power which also charges the battery.

I'll keep it pluged in when I'm near my charger but I frequently use it on the battery when I have it in different places in my house or take it somewhere. And if I have it plugged in for over a week I will unplug it and drain the battery and then let it charge.
