The curtain opens on a perfect scene
Her hand is small in his
He's a callous sort of quiet
Gentle but a giant
His heart is still so sweet
She thinks she loves him
They've only just begun
They begin, they're one
He takes, she gives
A child and a man
She's foolish and he knows it
He loves her for it, he thinks
But he wonders then wanders
He turns back because he's never done
There's a pretty girl with hair so red
Eyes so blue and a place in his bed
He drops her small hand
He breaks her heart
It's all over just at the start
The curtain closes and so ends the dream
Her hand is small in his
He's a callous sort of quiet
Gentle but a giant
His heart is still so sweet
She thinks she loves him
They've only just begun
They begin, they're one
He takes, she gives
A child and a man
She's foolish and he knows it
He loves her for it, he thinks
But he wonders then wanders
He turns back because he's never done
There's a pretty girl with hair so red
Eyes so blue and a place in his bed
He drops her small hand
He breaks her heart
It's all over just at the start
The curtain closes and so ends the dream
