Anybody listen to Lil Wayne? And no as much about him as I do?

I never use to listen to rap, but ever since I heard him. He is basically all I listen to now.

Personality? I fucking hate it. He's so fucking full of himself and he thinks automatically that his money earns him credibility and respect. Bullshit.
Flow? Actually decent sometimes, I'll give him that much.
Lyrics? Some of the fucking shittiest lyrics ever. He has the most retard punchlines and wordplay ever. Yet, he still thinks he's fucking witty.
Beats? Fucking lame ass mainstream beats that we've all heard a thousand times before made in 15 minutes on Fruity Loops.

Personally, I hate him. To me, he is the epitome of what is wrong with mainstream music these days. It's not his music as much as his holier-than-thou personality, and it especially annoys me when he tries to play guitar. It's like an insult to the art of guitar playing.

I don't have a problem with other people liking him, yet I do find it amazing that some people call him the "best rapper of all time". Still, that's an opinion, and I respect it.

I don't like rap to start with, but I especially don't like Lil' Wayne... He used to be an average rapper to me but ever since he made a pitiful attempt at rock music (Rebirth album), I've especially hated him. EDIT: Y'know what. I completely apologize for the hostility. The problem I had was when you said "maybe if he could actually speak english so you could know what he was saying"...that sounds like something someone who barely listens to rap says. Lil Wayne doesn't suck because people can't understand what he's saying, and quite frankly if you can't understand it that's kinda sad because he raps at a 3rd grade level (that's why I hate him). And then you topped it with the "Eminem>rappers!!" and I was like ..oh god.

Yes that bothers me, because I hear it all the time. Too many people think that Em's the only rapper they can listen to but they're just being really closed minded. It happens on VT all the time too if you don't believe me, you can look up the thread on it I went absolutely nuts there too. :D

Closing myself off to the entire mainstream just because I don't like the music industry would be stupid. In a way that would kinda go against what I've been trying to say. I'll look for releases from artists I think are good or decent. And I hate to play this card, but that was one of his more "underground" songs that I enjoy. I mean, I could see that point working if it was a song everyone's heard of but was a mixtape song and a story about government conspiracy that I doubt will ever get played on the radio. But hey, apparently that means I dont listen to underground music.

There are incredible rappers out there, but pretty much every rapper in the mainstream is a marketing attempt. Its all bullshit, especially Wayne and Eminem. Thought provoking poets who rap over original music and beats is what I'd consider good. Seriously check out Atmosphere if you don't believe me.
