There is only one way that you can tell if you have an STD, well that I know, and that is getting tested.

Of course, the safest way to prevent pregnancy is no sex at all.. If you happen to stumble across the situation, be sure to wear a condom.

Firstly, get tested beforehand and make sure that she gets tested. Your best bet is to use two contraceptives, the easiest is a condom and spermicidal lube. Abstinence also works well if you're patient or religious :P

To those people who are saying you should both get tested:
I don't see that as a viable option since they're both teenagers.. No teenage girl is gonna go up to her mom or dad and ask to go get tested for an STI because she wants to have sex with another guy... Same goes for guys.

As to your question, wear a condom. Make sure you're both ready too. Don't feel pressured into doing anything because it'll just fuck with your life in the end.
