So, lately, I've noticed a couple reoccuring problems with my iPod Touch that I hope you guys can help me out with. For the record, it's a 2nd Gen 8 gig.

The first problem is that the screen art from purchased songs, and the actual song, are mixed up in some cases. For example, when I play a song by P!nk, it get's a cover art from Glee and etc. It's been like that for a couple weeks and even when I reconnect my iPod to my PC, it doesn't fix it.

Another problem involves the earphones. I've gone through three fucking sets of them. Sony, some other brand from Radio Shack and Skullcandy. However, after maybe a week or so, the left earbud always blow's out, no matter how loud I've played music or whatever (And I don't play it loud). However, if I plug it into another person's iPod, it is usually fine.

Anyone have a solution to these problems?

Plug your ipod into a computer, open up iTunes, go into your music library, and right click any song. Select 'get info', and you should be able to see what specific album art is associated with what song. See if that helps.

Have you tried the earbuds that just came with the iPod?

The first tip fixed it. Thanks :)

And I have and it still does the same thing.

Look inside the headphone jack on the iPod. There could be lint or something jammed up there. My friend had that problem, and when he took it up to the Apple Store, they just took it out and it was fine.

EDIT: Crap. Gotta start reading through these threads...

I have a similar problem with artwork, except that it only shows artwork for certain songs, not all of them. About the headphones, your jack might be broken. This can happen if you keep the headphones in while they are in your pocket. If it is still under warranty, you can have this repaired for free.

I think only certain songs have artwork.

I checked after I posted. For instance, The Stroke, by Billy Squier, has artwork. Yet when you click on the center button during inactivity and it shows that screen with the slidey thing, it doesn`t show the artwork. It does this for "Magic Man", "Cell Block Tango", "Bad Romance", and others. All of the songs I said were purchased legit from Apple.

If you edit the song info through itunes, you can get the album artwork on every single song.

Question: iPod touch you can press on the "artwork" and the bar comes down with the timeline of the song. On some songs there is lyrics that are put on there. Can you do that manually?

I don't have iTunes on the computer I'm using right now but if you look through the various tabs on the window that pops up from hitting 'Get song info', you probably can.

I`ve done it on my non-legit songs. I am guessing it only malfunctions on songs I purchase.

I have this issue with every single pair of earphones I buy. No matter the brand. I go for better quality ones, they still die like this. So I just get cheap Skullcandy ones and keep replacing them. But it's not only for my iPod Touch, I use them on my laptop as well and they don't work at all. My pair right now has this issue, as a matter of fact.

I can't figure out what causes that. I don't do anything to them that I know of that would logically cause this problem. I asked my stepdad about it, as he's good with technology, a couple steps ahead of my knowledge, and all he had for me is "Are you hitting them against the wall or something?"

If any of the problems persist, hopefully you aren't Jailbroken and still under the 1 year limited warranty by Apple. Take it to them and they have to fix/replace your device since it's defective and technically their fault.
