Nope, my parents didn't do that. I never did anything to breach their trust as far as my Internet usage, therefore I never had that issue. Some parents are a little less.. eh.. trusting than that though. I know kids who never did anything for their parents to not trust them, and they still do that. Depends on the parents.

I was warned never to delete my history or use private browsing (I still do it anyway). But my parents never check, or use my computer, for that matter.

Hmmm...I can't imagine why you would have to delete your history if you didn't think you were doing something wrong... :D Anyways, your parents are just concerned about your safety on the internet, like most parents are. My parents don't check my history or use my computer, but they are very trusting. Like Syvelocin said, some parents aren't as trusting. But still, that can be a good thing for your safety. keep that in mind. ~Caitlin

no, mine are pretty trusting. They just let me do what I want to do, but still make sure I'm okay...from a distance. Which is the way I like it.

I just delete it when I'm done, I also have 4 passwords you have to enter (boot, windows, internet, browser) before you can get to the browser so I don't worry. They never touch my computer though. Except my dad once tried to guess the password to my laptop, and I was like "Get the hell off my computer" and he never touched it again.

just use google chrome incognito mode, when you close it it doesn't save the browser history automatically

Parents who check the internet history of someone who's under the age of like 11 or 12 is a fucking idiot.

Some parents are just paranoid. Either try and get your own computer, earn their trust, or stop doing things you don't want your parents to know of.

No... After any time im on something they dont like I just delete my history. On Chromium (the browser I use) you can delete only the past hour of your history so it's never a problem :D

I don't think my parents would have even known how when I was younger.

If they asked me now, I think I would laugh in their face.

My adult sister checked my history once when I was twelve. Ohhh the trouble I got into...

But now I have my own Lap top, bought with my own money, and my own desktop, once again old money. I'm still paranoid so sometimes I use InPrivate browsing for things like my self-harm look ups and stuff.

Nope, I have two computers of my own...a laptop and a desktop, which I have password protected so nobody can get on them. Plus, I delete my history, just cause I'm extra paranoid. :P I go on some forums and other websites like that, so its not that I'd get in trouble for it but I'd rather not have my parents knowing all of my business.

No, but even if they did I wouldn't care. I don't have a password on my laptop and I don't go on anything that could be considered "bad." Facebook, my email, my college's website, NHL.com, ebay and this occasionally. If my parents have a problem with that, then somethings wrong with them.

This topic related to parents is funny to me. I've never had this issue, and it's my my parents come to when they want to check the history of the PCs to make sure my little sisters aren't being like talked to by creeps (which has happened, and I stopped). Good ole big brother I am.

I rarely use the computer to watch porn and stuff like that because part of my dad's job has to do with computers so IDK if he knows how to recover my deleted history, im not ganna take the chances. xD I just use my ipod touch for all of that now. :P

Pfft, my parents wouldn't begin to know how to open my web browser, much less check my history, and even if they asked to see, I could delete it before they knew what I was doing.

I use chrome's incognito mode when I look at that stuff, so it deletes it as soon ask I close the window. Even still, they've never checked it.

April 20th, 2011, 05:30 PM
Nope, they don't. They don't really have to, besides, I don't think they know how to do it... :P
Oh, and I have a separate account with a password, so it gets hard for them to do it anyway.

My parents have tried to in the past, and it is annoying them not trusting me. But other than that, to all those deleting your web history, there are still cookies and cached files saved to the computer that they can see. This is another way for them to tell what sites you've visited.

My mom checks mt texts. Sometimes I forget to delete the "inappropriate" conversations and I get in trouble, but she has never checked history on my computer, not that I would have something to hide.

I have my own computer so that isn't really a problem. Although I delete it everytime, you never know who might go onto your computer.

Lol I have my own computer but I don't look at "inappropriate" things online bcasue I don't want to bog down my computer with that stuff. But, that's where a cell phone comes in handy, ;)

On my browser settings, I have everything set to: Don't save any caches, cookies stuff like that and Do not store any temporary internet files. Also it doesn't save history and deletes anything when closed. Boom. Can't touch this ;)
