Anyone else do this?

Hey guys, i was just wondering, rather stupidly i guess whether anyone else plays about with custom software for mobile phones and ipods etc?
I mean i have my htc hero, and the one thing that i was most looking forward to when i got it was putting different ROMS on there, i mean as we speak im flashing VillainRom 13!
And it makes me oddly happy?Maybe too happy? lool

Just wanted to know whether anyone else does anything even remotely like this?

I would try and help you out buddy, but the only thing i know about firmwares are Apple's firmwares, and that's just to Jailbreak my iDevices. But i'm sure Google can be of HUGE help to you for what you're looking for.

Have a jailbroken iPod touch. And I always am switching to a different rom on my droid. So to answer your question yes I do do it lol.

Whenever I look for a new phone, i try to see if its possible to load custom firmware/roms onto it, the HTC HD2 is a prime example I managed to completely remove the terrible Windows Mobile and loaded Android 2.3 onto it, turned it into a whole new phone!

i have the samsung fascinate for Verizon and i Rooted it..and its sweet because now I can use it to tether :D for freee

I've got a built-from-source modified Cyanogen(mod) ROM (2.3.3) on my HTC Evo 4G. It's pretty much tailor made for me.
