A Forgotten Angel
She sits beaten and bloodied
Her rags around her in a heap
Her long flowing hair forgotten
Cut off and burned and rotten
Her feet, once adorned with sparkling shoes
Now are dirty, black, and bruised
Her eyes which sparkled with stardust
Now are full of hunger, and lust
Her face, once full and round
Is now carved with pathways of tears,
Tears which now run along the ground
Her heart once full of love and song
Is now withered, dead, and gone
Who is that angel we once knew
So thin and frail, she once flew
But now, on the side of the road
Dirtied, bloody and beaten
She longs for the one who she held as he cries
She remembers, and slowly beside him, she dies
The lovers imagined a light, of everlasting heart
But now they rest below the ground
Forever apart

Seasons of Peace
There is a garden
For Martin Luther King
We watch
Winter becomes spring
With the changing seasons
So changes the scene
Withered flowers
Unfold, sing
We see them
They sway
No way to keep them
They wither away

By far two of my best works of poetry. Please tell me what you think.
