I had to go the hospital last week and get some cuts stapled. They said to wait a week and then get a doctor to remove them. Am I ok to just remove them myself?

You could remove them yourself but I wouldn't recommended it at all, the doctor could possibly want to leave them on for another week or so. So I would go there.

Yeah that was last monday, so its been a week. Wouldn't mind getting rid, bugging me, and going to the doctor is a pain in the arse.

Yeah, its not as simple as pulling them out like paper, Make sure the Doc does is so it does not get infected and he/she may also need to make sure its ready to be removes/further treatment.
Hope This Helps :)

I would not recommend removing them yourself, because the doctors use sanitized tools and if you removed them yourself you have the possibility of getting an infection. You should probably go to the doctor. Take care! ~Caitlin

Yeah, don't do it yourself. The reason they say get a doctor to do it is so he can check the cuts over before he does it, to make sure its ready for the staples to be removed. Not only that if its not done in a sterile way you can pick up infection.

I remember using stables, then the guy removed them and came in to say he did it, I have to scrape the cuts, steralise the cut and we put stitches in, just from his stupidity !!!

I tried pulling them out today, but they're stuck or something.

Wait for the doctor's appt. Even if going to see the doctor is a pain, it's better to be safe than sorry.

As everyone said Matt, go to the doctors. It's not safe to be pulling them out yourself.

Matthew do NOT even think about it! It's a very high risk of infection due to the exposed nature of staples. It needs to be done by a professional in a completely sterile environment (I.E. A hospital!!), so for your own good leave them be and get a professional. Waiting for the appointment won't harm you. Pulling them out will most likely cause some damage, which could be very serious.

Wait if I can't get them out, how does a doctor?

Well proper equipment and a MD help. I've had it done before. They have a way of doing them. I'm not telling you though. Just go to the doctor. They wouldn't put them in if they couldn't get them out.

Yeah the Doc has tools to remove them, and can make it less painful then doing it at home :)

your only risk with hospital is getting MRSA and being killed, may be harsh but only risk but at home you can get bacterial infection which if forced mutation hapens could cause MRSA or many other dodgy infectious diseases/bacterium., ohhh as well as the fact stables have a skin graft so take very hih tec gear to remove.
