Well,

I've stopped for about a week now, its been extremely hard though. Everytime i see something I could use, my mind runs through all the posibilities. However, ive managed to restrain myself so far.

Got my life back on track I hope.

Its just getting harder actually, each day. I thought it might get easier, but its not, not right now.

Any Advice would be great? :)

Thanks,

Dark

Well done :)
I've not actually got last the first days so I'm unsure, but think you just need to keep up with distractions. Writing, drawing, singing, snapping elastic bands, drawing in red marker pen, rubbing ice.
Find one that really works for you :)
Keep Going!
I'm always here should you need anyone to talk too

Well done for getting past the first week Ryan, you've tackled one of the hardest things already. As you know though you're not out of the woods yet. Im not going to pretend its easy to get over this because its going to take some time and patience.

The main thing though is not listening or giving into the urges when they come around. I find flicking an elastic band against my skin on my wrist is a good way to keep them satisfied enough to get you through them. I also use paper, every time i get the worst urges Il tear sheets into smaller pieces and keep doing that until i can't physically make them any smaller.

Keeping yourself distracted is the main way of getting yourself through but I've also learnt over time that if you want to stop you need to do it for yourself, so don't do it for anyone else other than you. Using others as motivation is a good thing to do because it'll give you reason to keep going but remember, its for your benefit, no one elses. If you need to talk or anything you can contact me at the address in my sig.

The Elastic Band is working at the moment.

And seeing my ex's face (who has been great through all this) - makes me realise what im doing.

One week is some excellent progress. It's all a matter of will power and stress/anxiety management via other activities. Which is waaaay easier said than done. Typically helps to set goals and have rewards.
