Hmmm... I like
Poison
Maroon 5
Nickelback
and Modest Mouse
How come you don't like these bands? Apart from Nickelback they're all very unknown in my area.
I like Paramore too but that's understandable.

Secondhand Serenade. I'm sorry but they annoy me so much. Same chord patterns in all of their songs. Lyrical themes guranteed to make them popular. Not writing about what they feel, but what they know a lot of people will feel so people listen to them. Horrible voice. Always just seemed so fake to me.

-Fall Out Boy
Nirvana
I like these bands.
To be honest. The only band worth my time of shooting in the face is Late Nite Reading. Their a band from my school. The only reason they're opening for All Time Low, or NeverShoutNever, and all the other ones they have, is because their parents are all rich. Their music is just copies of Blink 182 (who I would shoot in the face), and NeverShoutNever(who I would too)

The whole "it's all a matter of opinion" argument doesn't apply to the mainstream auto-tuned pop artists, but I'm assuming you're not into that kind of thing, so in that case I suppose you would be correct here. Apart from Nickelback.
Secondhand Serenade.
Definitely these. I can't believe I missed them out.

Lady GaGa
Flyleaf
Lil Wayne
Kanye West
Ke$ha
Backstreet Boys
NSYNC

Those are probably my most hated... I feel that for the most part they lack talent as well as being damn annoying. There are many other bands that a don't like but yeahh... these are the top.

-Any that call themselves "punk" for some reason that escapes me. Mayday Parade and shit like that.
-Green Day
-MCR
-Panic at the Disco
-Fall Out Boy
-Nickelback
-Jonas Brothers, have to mention them.
-Paramore
-Never Shout Never
-Blood On The Dance Floor D: That's some awful shit right there.
-Three Days Grace
-Avenged Sevenfold (they're not that bad looking at one album... but every song is the same and they get even more pop-like as they advance an album o.O)
-Korn
-Slipnot
-Disturbed
-*insert Nu Metal band here*
-Black-Eyed Peas
-Plain White T's
Yada yada.
There's much more, but I'm only touching on the basics.
Basically, if they're classified as emo, have girly (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KA62IuYI6gs) male (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rgInHvW8Ic) vocals (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-eqvhvz_-KM) or run-of-the-mill vocals (I like unique voices, not singers who sound like they all came out of American Idol. An interesting voice is a requirement for me to like a artist), call themselves rock but are definitely pop, or just have annoying song structures and lyrics, I'll probably hate them. A lot of the time, but not always, you can assume I'll hate them if they're big-time mainstream.
Marcie, you have one band in there I can't agree with. Rawr. Bloc Party doesn't even touch the shit that the rest of the list is. Just saying. There's much worse out there. Maybe I'm just biased though, I grew up listening to them :P

But some of these bands aren't pop music and were out before auto tune was, well invented really. Mettalica, Poison (Poison I suppose is pop-rock though) and Nirvana (not so sure on Nirvana) would have been out before there was auto tune.
Oh wait, it wasn't you who suggested Metallica, consider post retracted :P

I don't feel the need to "shoot other bands in the face," since I believe everyone has the right to enjoy the music they find appealing, and that it's not the job of anyone to look down on another's tastes, unless they're forcing their tastes on someone else.
The problem with music today is that everybody's trying to tell other people what's 'good' and 'bad,' even though such things can't be presented as fact because they're opinions. If everyone kept their own thoughts to themselves and didn't rub their thoughts on what bands suck in everybody else's faces, this world would be a little more peaceful.

All other screamo bands
Eh, there is good screamo music. Also, you can't say a whole genre sucks, because that means you're talking about every other artist in that genre, including the ones you haven't heard. Hating things you haven't heard is just dumb. The issue is that the shitty screamo is allot more popular. Of course, I don't think you'll change your mind, but I'll toss out some examples. The Fall Of Boss Koala (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3k793c7HR0) is a screamo band that play more so of progressive post metal, but they still tend to keep screamo as the main genre. Suffocate For Fucks Sake (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7G2hAhqlg-0) was praised really well by critics and might be one of the best screamo albums ever made. This band also has post metal as a subgenre.
-Converge
-The Dillinger Escape Plan
Gonna disagree with those two. Converge is one of the only metalcore bands I enjoy. Dillinger Escape Plan is fucking brilliant and I love the avant garde influences from Mike Patton that they're bringing in. Mathcore is obviously not for everyone though. Not many people like the concept or the way they play their music.
I think my list is too long. Because I love so much music that also means I hate allot of music.
Anyone who said Flyleaf are no longer my friends O.o

Well, that's a completely different issue. I've been thinking about it recently, and I've realized that hating music is a pointless and, frankly, stupid activity. Any music forum on any website instantly dissolves into a shitstorm of whining because everybody criticizes everyone else's tastes.
There's no such thing as the "best band ever" or the "worst band ever". Those terms are meaningless, because musical taste is 100% subjective. This thread only exists to ignite a completely counter-productive argument over what artists suck.

I completely detest mathcore, it just irritates me. But then again, I don't actually think that's down to the music itself being sucky, it's just simply because I hate the style. Same goes for jazz and country - again, the music isn't necessarily "bad", it's just that I absolutely can't stand to listen to more than a few seconds of it. The "it's all down to different tastes" can be applied to this case I suppose.

I'm not saying that my taste in music is the best taste in the world, because I fully well know it isn't. However, I simply wanted to make a thread of bands that annoy the fuck out of me out of boredom and frustration, I guess. Not because I want to imply that whoever likes those bands I've listed has a shit taste in music.

Even if it wasn't your intention to insult the tastes of others, a thread with this purpose – for people to list the bands they think should be shot in the face – is going to come down to that anyway. I mean, I can understand saying "I don't like X" if some fanboy/girl comes on and says "OMG X IS THE BEST BAND EVER," but making a thread saying "all of these bands should die, amirite?" just seems to be a bit... troll-y.
I think the Music section should be reserved for sharing music rather than bashing it.

I could never understand how some people can just go against a whole genre, like saying all rap sucks, all jazz sucks, etc... It never made sense to me. Like I do believe people can find something out of every genre that can apply to be good for them.
People really don't make sense to me I guess. Like I don't see how they can't like certain genre's and yet I can find myself liking a range of artists from every single genre I look into. Well, excluding crunkcore.

No, it still does.
I really have to disagree with that. 99% of today's pop music is just auto-tuned, cheesy, annoying genuine rubbish. A very generic thing to say, yes, but it's true.

I usually listen to a range of artists from the genre before I form an opinion of that particular genre. Generalizing music, movies, fashion, books, etc is a really bad habit of mine that I should break. But on the other hand, now you mention it, I think in most genres - in which I perhaps don't normally listen to - there is bound to be at least one or two artists that I like or at least can tolerate. However, I just haven't come across a single mathcore, country or jazz artist that I like at all, but I don't really explore those genres deep enough as they're not exactly at the top of my list.

Well, to you it's cheesy and annoying, but to others it's genuinely enjoyable music. I don't think it's right to constantly bash pop music because it doesn't require the talent that other acts put into their songs.
Pop music may be 'produced,' yes, but it's still music, and I'm not going to say it sucks just because it's not artistic. I may not enjoy it myself, but I'll never tell another person that the pop they listen to sucks and that they should be ashamed of listening to it unless they come along and bash my tastes first.

And screamo/black metal band
One of my biggest pet peeves in music is when people just say "fuck this genre". It's just so stupid to say something like this without listening to EVERY SINGLE ARTIST in that genre, which would take a damn long time to go and find every single artist in that genre. My philosophy is that there's typically something somewhere for everyone in every genre if you look hard enough.
There's many good screamo and black metal bands. By you saying this you're saying every artist in the genre sucks without even listening to most of these artists.

Indie is not a genre, like the cassette based bands. But if you hate indie bands, you might as well hate lofi music, psychedelic rock, shoegaze, space rock, post-rock and many other genres(that makes excellent music in my opinion) where the bands are labelled 'indie'.
