I'm surprised something of this nature hasn't been started yet... who does everyone think will win Idol this year/who is your favorite contestant.

James is my favorite, I think either James or Scotty will win.

I was happy that nobody had started an American Idol thread. It should be titled American Tools. Musicians who become tools to pop culture and shitted out four years later in my bathroom for nobody give a fuck about. Seriously why would you put such a beautiful voice to waste by making stupid fucking pop music? Beth Gibbons had the right fucking idea by making creative music with beautiful vocals.

Every "American Idol" needs to have a sob story and a generic singing vocal range to be a contestant, every winner on the show released maybe 1 or 2 albums then were dropped.

I partially agree with this but there are also some very good singers on it... It's something that has a large fan-base so I thought it might be a good thread.

The crap, run-of-the-mill vocalists win it. They always vote off my favourites really early. Well, I rarely have favourites. But that Irish girl Carly Smithson back a couple seasons. I liked her. She got voted off much earlier than I thought she should have been, now, though I don't like their music that much, she's in a band way better than any music about 99% of the contestants who've gotten record deals have done (I saw them live opening for HIM last year as well, not bad performers. Carly was the highlight of that though). Err, coincidence?

No, I haven't watched American Idol since the season Carly was on (I think that was season 7). I did watch some of the auditions for this season though, I love the auditions. Hilarious. I stopped after the first two however, waste of time as it is.

Rubin is the only winner other than Kelly Clarkson who has released more than three albums. Most haven't even made a third.

American Idol is amazing show.i like all singer of this show. all sings so beautifully.:yes: even i have music tune of american idol in my cell phone. :) i really like its music....:yeah:

ugh!!! american idol or should i say JUDGES IDOL??? duh? obviously you can see that the judges have their own favorites... for example scotty .... yea he is good but he is not versatile ... and they are saying that thia is boring and singing safe songs.. i was like look at scotty (i like scotty im not being bias.. just making him as an example :P) .. when he sang motown songs i can still hear the country music in his voice.. well all of them are good but i know there is something fishy happening in AI.. :D haha ;) well whoever wins the title of american idol congrats.. its up to the contestants if they can make their stars soar high... :)

on my opinion.. Judges got their Fave contestant imagine they save one contestant i think which is not good for me.. they just break the power of votes and freedom to choose.. :(

^ America has no idea who would be a good recording artist however. The judges don't either, but they have a better clue from what I've seen.

As much as I want James Durbin to win, I don't want him to because if he does he'll be forced into a box by the label he signs with. I tried out for American Idol and trust me, it's a load of crap. The whole process of American Idol is tedious and unnecessary as well as fake. The producers of the show actually audition the people, not the judges. It's all a hoax. But I want Scotty to win honestly.

Anyway, this season I like James, but I ♥ Scotty! I think it'll be between them two for whoever wins. They both have a good fan base and a really unique sound.
