Everybody has their perfect career that they want to persue at a young age. I want to know if anybody actually followed through with their dream job when they were only a young child, and are actually studying for that career path or have already begun the same work?

Like most little kids I wanted to be a firefighter, or a police officer, or professional baseball player (catcher or 2nd baseman). Once I got older I found myself wanting to be an architect and still have dreams of it happening one day. And would even like to be a police officer.
None of those original dreams happened to me. I'm now in the Army doing survey and design work. It's close to architecture just on a much wider spectrum. I even thought about going military police... So both of those dreams are still there.

I guess I didn't follow my initial dreams but once I got a little older my newer dreams are close to being true...

I've always wanted to be a paeleontologist. Now that I research the courses it all seems so dull :( Maybe I just don't like competition. I've heard loads of people say college is competitive, even in school there are snobs who make you look so average. I say snobs because most of them know they're smart, and start getting very snobby :) But yeah, going through all that biology and geology, paeleobotany, paeleoecology etc seems so dull. Like, I would find it interesting, but everywhere I go I'm the underdog so I would probably end up giving up. I'm only really interested in vertabrate and invertabrate paeleontology and paeleobotany, so all the other stuff would be a waste. Not to mention I have to move to a different country to study it. Anyway, if I dont go on to do that I'll just get an office job ><

My dream is to change this world for the better whether people like it or not. Don't encourage me, now.
