When I was 12, I got severe burns all down my right leg. I've tried mederma and all these other scar creams... nothing works. Any ideas of how to get rid of them... or at least fade them? Thankss!

Well it really depends on the severity of the burn. Often they are permanent unfortunately, but they should soften and become less and less visible over time. Sometimes creams can help, but if it's a really bad scar it's unlikely to take it away completely.

Using creams and what not are a good idea but burn scars are very hard to get rid of, as is with most scars. Try massaging hand lotion into them as well, stretching them and what not.

I agree with Daniel...based on the severity of the scar it may not go away. However, you can try to cover it if you are planning to wear a skirt or something. You can use face foundation or any kind of skin-colored makeup, but make sure that it matches your tone. You could also wear pantyhose or tights to cover the burns. Most of the time scars will fade away as skin grows, luckily. Because of your age, you have plenty of time and they probably will. :)

Agreed.
It is almost impossible to get rid of scars if they are severe, the skin is damaged and can not grow back the same. They way of life :)

I had burned my hand when I was baking brownies for my mom on her birthday. I touched the side of the oven, what a clutz! And then it healed it became dark and just didn’t look good. I figured whatever works for sun spots, will work for the discolored scar.. But sometimes you get what you pay for. I tried a bunch of cheap creams, like the stuff you get at CVS, but it didn’t incredibly work. . After doing tremendous researches , I finally found INVICIBLE SCARS …I consulted everyone . I even asked my dermatologist what she thought and she agreed. I used this cream inviCible scars for around 2 weeks and have seen a difference in the texture as it has lightened that portion to a great extent. I’m really very much satisfied by it as it has really shown drastic effects in such sort span of time. Consult the website if you want any more details
