In the quaint turn-of-the-century community called Old Town Spring, Texas, where Victorian style shops line the streets, one business stands out - pole fitness for Jesus. There's no preaching, just teaching.
Set to Christian music, church-going women spin and slither around poles. But the instructor and the students say it's not about sex.
"This is my second class," student Tiffany Booth said.
For them, this is about getting closer to God.
"God gives us these bodies and they are suppose to be our temples and we are suppose to take care of them and that's what we are doing," instructor Crystal Dean said
Booth was raised in church. Now, the pole is her temple.

Only in Texas. Well, Jesus sure had a plan for them. Probably something like, "Pole dance for me because I want to fap to you". I don't know. He's a lonely guy I've heard, so it's understanding. I'd do the same.

*sigh*
I hate it when people misinterpret the Bible to fit their personal agenda.

Or you misinterpreted it. Just because you read something one day doesn't mean it's right. *sigh*

He's telling the truth. Pole Dancing can help increase self esteem and confidence in one's self being. It also strengthens your abs, shoulders, thighs, and arms. Do you realize how many calories you burn for pole dancing in just thirty minutes?

Exactly. As long as they aren't doing it before an audience to get them off, I really can't see how this possibly goes against any sort of scripture. It's a women's course with a female instructor.

There is a "right" way of interpreting it even though I myself don't know it yet.
But this is one of the things that gets me questioning my faith, the bible shouldn't be this vague as to get it susceptible to many interpretations/misinterpretations.

Try telling that to the fundies. They are sure to think different.

Agreed.
What about pole dancing is sinful? Anything can be done to the glory of God, as the Bible states. You're generalizing pole dancing to strip clubs or college dorm activities. As was previously stated, it's a female instructor with clothed women.

Only if you dance to that Rock n' Roll music that's so popular with the kids these days.
