So I"m on abilify. Yes, wonderful Aiblify. I feel literally insane. I'm bipolar, and have terrible minute mood swings, but this is just awfull. I also have OCD, but on the meds I feel like I'm super bipolar and super OCD. Like it's the lows of both, with little highs. I'm trying to describe this as best I can. Apparently I'm shaking, my friends kept asking me why I was shaking. They also noticed I was acting abnormally, more so then usual. This is my first day on them. I feel like a zombie, and I have no control, it's either tired and moppy and no control, or super hyper squirell on crack no control, or right now pissed at the world and very OCD. There is no non extreme... just this. Will this get better? How long will I be like this?

It may just be your body trying to adjust to the new medications, set back and relax, it takes soem time fo ryou bady to get used to them. Abilify only has a Half-life of 75hours so you may, like I said just having your body get used to it.
If I remember right, I think it might have been you who said that you father was a doctor, pharmacist I think. If this is correct I would suggest you asking him. Or you could contact your primary care physician and talk to them or your local pharmacist and ask them any questions.

What is your dosage and can you tell us if you take any vitamin supplements, allergy medication, sleeping pills or any other legal or illegal drugs? Things like other antidepressants, antifungals, antihistamines, HIV protease inhibitors, etc.

Side effects of Abilify that are common are:

Hyperglycemia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperglycemia)
Dizziness
Lightheadedness
Fainting
Nervousness
Weight Gain and appetite increase


One of the more serious side effects is unusual movement in your body, so you should definitely talk to your doctor about the shaking. Making sure you are getting more than an adequate amount of water will help with a lot of problems you may experience while taking aripiprazole.
