Not Quite Sure

Hey guys, I'm posting here because I'm not too sure about this girl.

She's on my swim team, and when I'm at practices, she seems to ignore me. I know I've caught her staring at me before, but she just otherwise ignores me.
However, whenever I'm not there (for a valid or nonvalid reason) she always asks my friend why I'm not there, etc.

What I'm confused about is whether or not she likes me...I don't want to ask her and risk her hating me for assuming such but I also don't want to do nothing
