i think it's used like a t-shirt under another shirt, whatever you'd use a t-shirt in that situation for.

Well they're not really worn by guys in the UK but the design is used as undershirt vests just for extra layers. They look better on women in my opinion.

Wifebeaters like the hanes ones, are usually worn as undershirts. You wear them to protect the shirt you're wearing on top from body odour, sweat and to preserve the shirt more. Nowadays though,many people wear them, because it gives them that "im a cool badass guy" look. Kinda like eminem. I've never actually worn one in my life.

they have a few uses. in the normal world they're generally used as undershirts. i see them a lot at university: athletes use them because they allow more freedom/comfort for the arms and shoulders, and more fratty/party oriented students wear them to show off their guns and because it's awesome to go drinking in a beater.

i work out sometimes with them or i just wear a sports bra but i keep one in both my parents cars at all times in case of wardrobe malfunctions emergencies
