I go to a Christian Private school and it is so gay friendly ! In Year 8 we had a conference on lots of different issues and one was sexuality and they educated everyone that it doesn't matter what sexuality you are we should all be treated the same.
And obviously I would get I few mean comments but when I got to year 10 nobody cared that I was gay.
Literally all the like 'jock' guys and everyone didn't even care I was gay. They always talk to me and invited me to there parties. I even like one of them (well really like 5 of them lol), I told him and talk about it to his friends and they don't care and are so nice to me !
He even jokes around with me and like licks his lips and rubs his dick around me and stuff :D
My school is so gOod and I feel so safe there :)
What about you guys ???

I'm not gay, or bi. But my school would tear you to pieces. People are harsh... I have even made gay jokes without really thinking about it, Then I regret it later. Its great that you go to a school that you can feel good about being homosexual. I wish more schools were like that...

A Christian school doing that? Bloody hell.
Due to the general demographic of the area, my secondary school consisted of quite a mix of homophobes and those who didn't care (mostly homophobes though).
The college I went to (in Cambridge) was a LOT more LGBT friendly and there were a few LGBT clubs / organisations.

My school's alright. The teachers are accepting, if they happened to find out. I go to an all girls school, and the girls love gay guys, but they're grossed out by lesbians. They're under the impression that lesbians are different to gays. I was sitting in home ec and I over heard girls talking about a gay guy they met at a party. They were like "aw we started talking about guys we think are hot it was so awesome!" and then they got to talk about gays and how they think its genetic. Then one on the girls said "Ugh I'm not comfortable around lesbians though" and another said "Aw yeah lesbians are different though...". Talk about slaves to stereotypes. It was crazy. I'm sure they just dont understand, they never were faced with it I guess.

I wish my school was more open to LGTB people. I, myself am bi, but I don't want to tell anyone really because im looking to seek a relationship with a male. It's no ones business if I want to have sexual relations with males.
Anyway, in my city, there are 3 primary high schools. One is on the east end where all the preppy and good kids go, then there is one in the downtown area where the scene kids/druggies/emo/outcast kids go and then there is my school. It's a mixture of a tiny goth, lots of preps, lots of ghetto kids, and then the regular joes. With there being A LOT of ghetto kids, being openly gay or bi or whatever you are, you would experience tons and TONS of bullying from it. So no, unfortunately, my school isn't open towards gays and bisexuals

I go to a Catholic school but its not that bad.
I'm bi, and I've come out to my closest friends and they're okay with it. There are however a lot of people who think that homosexuality is wrong so its no surprise there aren't many 'out' people here. We had a discussion today about how different faiths view sexuality. Most of the people in class said they were okay with homosexuality which made me pretty happy.
I guess wherever you go there' will always be people who don't like it but then on the other hand chances are there will be some people who don't mind it.

You're glad? It's not really something to be glad about that LGBT kids at your school can't be who they are without fear.
My school's okay. There are the chavs and popular people and that who seem to think their way is the only way, and I do know a VERY discriminative guy (sexist, racist, homophobic, you name it, he is it), but most people are okay with it. I'm not out myself but somebody I know did come out recently and the only people who really said anything was the pig mentioned earlier and a couple other people (the majority of whom have few friends, surprise surprise.). A girl I know however came out as bi last year in summer and got a bit of shit, mostly from girls throwing water at her and that. She's a bitch though if I'm honest, she deserved it and still does. She actually only came out for attention, when she introduced herself to someone this year she said "Hi, I'm ---. And yes I'm bi.". I won't start going on about her though :')
There's a lot of really open-minded and supportive people in my year though, which does make me smile. It's really nice to know that when I do come out, there's a whole bunch of people who'll support me and be there for me :)

My school's semi-friendly to gay guys, but not nearly as much as yours is :D. I don't see many outed gay guys at the school's parties. Most homophobes at my school do it behind their backs instead of to their faces, but it's mostly mild either way.

I'm popular in my school too ! I get invited out with the popular 'jock' guys when they just walk around the streets drinking :D I'm so happy and they talk about people I like with me. I feel really comfortable around them, and it's funny that automatically any girl is my friend even if I've never spoke to them :D

I'm not gay myself but i go to a Catholic All-Boys School, long story short, the teachers tell the students that being gay is unnatural and bad and all the students have bad views about homosexuality, I have tried to speak out and tell them that it doesn't matter but they just answer with gay bashing, no arguments no nothing.
Quite a sad place for a freethinker.

My school that I go to is very open, any discrimination can lead to expulsion. Its never happened, everyone is very liberal and open. But my school is a private school with only about 200 students. I have heard of a lot of discrimination at the bigger school who have about 1600-2000 students.

Now I am not gay, but our school is 100% antigay. They tease and pick on kids all the time if they even suspect that the kid is gay. If they were to find out someone was gay, you would probably get beat up, teased, and wouldnt be acknowledged by anyone.

For the most part, we are very open and friendly.
I can think of two guys off the top of my head. One was prom king, lead of the school musicals, and on student council. Close family friend of mine actually, he's my sister's best friend. His dad is a teacher at our school. He was friends with everyone, guys, girls, whoever.
The other one that comes to mind....he's friends with some people, but for the most part no one likes him very much. Not because he's gay, they couldn't care less. Because he's annoying as fuck.

My school is and to be honest the teachers defend any LGBT student, my medical teacher is a lesbion and one of the coolest people I know. When I came out as metro last year she made it a point with me that if I was having any problems or problems with anyone that I was to call her immediatly and she would take care of it.
My home school on the hand is totally different and full of hicks and people who think they are gehtto. It is a southern atmosphere most of the time and some of us have the twang accent.
I love my school (not my home school) and I am going to miss it cause I will only be there for the next three days cause I graduate.

I would say that on the whole, my school is more on the accepting side of the scale. I came out as gay at the beginning of April this year and nobody at all has given me any hassle for it. I'm not sure everybody in my year knows, but the majority do. People have either been supportive of me, or haven't said anything. A few of the teachers who know have been really great about it. I know that if I'm targeted because of my sexuality, I can call in support (Black Ops style with a care package ) and they've got my back.
So yeah, I'm feeling quite comfortable about my sexuality right now. It was actually quite a relief just to tell people because some of them had already been thinking it - they were just waiting to hear it. :)

My school isn't as good as that at all... I'm bisexual, and a lot of people accept me for that.
But the "You're so gay" comments can get pretty harsh between people. Going as far as calling them fags and such. You can't really change a person's opinion though, they won't know what it's like.
As far as coming out to people, it wen't easily. And I don't really get teased about it because I stay out of people's buisness and get a long with other's very easy.

My school is in the middle of nowhere lol. The people out here, they have a fairly interesting take on homosexuality. It's ok for a girl to be a lesbian, but if a guy is gay or bi, man that is the end of the world. I recently had a friend come out to me and when I asked him why me, he said that there really aren't alot of people he could come out to without everyone knowing and him getting shit for it.

Who the hell are you to judge people? Based on your post you are spouting your religious parents views. Also, just because someone is "Effenment" doesn't mean they are gay, smart one. For all you know he had an OCD.

I'm not gay but I've noticed something just now from this thread. A lot of fuvking people preach gay's deserve equal rights. But when it comes to talking face to face with them they treat them like fucking crap. I just noticed this because sometimes the issue of gay marriage would come up and people are always, "oh gay people deserve every right to be treated the same as straight people."
The hypocrisy is fucking bullshit.

Preaching equal rights sure as hell makes people look better than talking shit about people. Of course as soon as it becomes anonymous with no one to impress people just think 'why bother'.

Well, despite the negative stories, I'm pretty glad I see some positivity and that I live in Florida. o: I live near the beaches and maybe it's not that, but it just seems like a pretty accepting area from the teens I've met (can't say I've gone to a real school in the past two years, going back in August!)
I've been out for a while and get along fine. I'm going into high school with no worries. Doesn't really matter to me what will come cause it will anyway but I'm glad I get to live in the area I do and be accepted generally well. It's probably the only thing that reassures me that "It gets better" isn't just some bullshit slogan xD

It's just people trying to fit in with the crowd. They know fine well that being homophobic is generally very frowned upon, so they say what everyone else expects to hear. Some people truly will preach that gay people deserve equal rights because they believe it thoroughly, while others will do it just to fit in with the others. It's usually boys who will say they're not against gay people, how they believe in all these rights for them etc, but then be disrespectful to a gay person's face, or to be cowardly: behind their back. There are some boys in my school who are like that to me; they're all "Oh we're fine with you being gay... blah blah" and then when I'm out of sight they'll make fun. But they're the immature ones who I don't let get to me. If they have to make fun of me because of my sexuality, then it means they've got some kind of insecurity about them. After all, people only really tend to make fun of others when they don't feel entirely comfortable about themselves.
I agree with you though, because I think there is an awful lot of hypocrisy. If people can't be consistent in their views/opinions regarding gay rights, or anything at all for that matter, they shouldn't preach it, or really even talk about it. But hey, there's always gonna be this kind of hypocrisy regarding sexuality, because although society is moving forwards with accepting it (which is why people strain not to make fun of it [offensively] so much nowadays), there's always gonna be people who just don't understand it, or haven't been brought up knowing of it, or accepting of it. Maybe in generations way in the future, sexualities other than hetero (homo/bi etc.) will just be considered 'normal'. An idealistic, and probably a little unrealistic thought, yes, but we've just got to be optimistic.
Of course as soon as it becomes anonymous with no one to impress people just think 'why bother'.
That sums things up, to be honest.

My school.....well my grade is not gay friendly far from it. Kids in my grade are so immature its not even funny. I got bullied for a long time and I wasn't even gay, but those kids all thought I was. But I never let them bother me and I'm glad I can live my life without worring about them

In my school, it seems that a gay couple I know seems to get in trouble for kissing/whatever then a straight couple I know for doing more or less the same thing. Other then that, it's pretty open and gay/bisexual friendly, depending on the person and their initial placement on the school popularity pyramid

My school's neutral. There are homophobes, and supporters, (I am a supporter :P) there are no openly gay kids at my school (not that I know of) but the one I did know had to move. :c And then there are people who don't care.

It all depended an who you hung with and where you did the hanging with my school, the group i was well...sucked into fussed at me for not wearing purple for "gay awareness day" or for the whole "twloha" or to write love on her arms, gay suicide prevention.
but then again these were the nero-punkrockers with the chains and boots who lived in the shadows.
But if you went into the lighter side of the school atrium where we hung out you would get into the preps and goody-goodies who were anti gay for the most part.
so yes our school was divided and i lived with the shadows dressed as a prep.

In my school the people who supported gays wore purple (It was mostly shoes/bracelets since we have a uniform) in honor of the gay kids who killed themselves... I wore shoes with purple and a purple hair band and colored my hands purple and wrote on my binder in purple marker. C:

My old school, since I'm going to high school in september, I really can't describe. The administration only has a few unmentioned policies in the school handbook, they don't take note of anything LGBT, and the students... So severely separated. Most don't care about gays, neutral, my friends are very open and they know that I'm gay. The rest of the students, just don't even look at them. There is a strong general bullying policy, it's like we are invisible.

My school is very small having less than 500 kids in six grades
( 12th,11th,10th,9th,8th,7th) and it has a hand full of openly gay people. No one messes with them because their are nice, good people. If anyone did try anything they'd get there asses handed to them by students and teachers alike.

You're fine with that because it doesn't affect you.
How about the people who are gay?
My school is such a relaxed school when it comes to pretty much everything but drama, and I'm pretty sure no-one really cares about your sexuality in public, beyond like a "that's weird" kind of way.

i don't think it belongs in school period, gay or straight. i also don't think sexual orientation needs to be said. i don't go around saying, oh i'm straight. people don't need to go around saying, oh i'm gay. we don't have a heterosexual alliance, but people want a LGBT alliance. talk about a double standard! ridiculous.

I came out in year 8 and everyone was fine about it. I think there was either 1 or 2 people 'bullying' me for about a month, but that was as bad as things got. It was pretty good at my school :3
I was surprised considering that I went to quite a big school. Everyone found out after a few days and it was the talk of the school; I got at least 20 people a day asking if it was true and asking "how do you know?" "what's it like?" etc (This was almost 4 years ago, coming out in school especially at the age of 13 wasn't very common :P).
