I went to the doctor's today and found out that I have a clogged tear duct. He gave me a prescription for liquid medicine and I have to take it for a week. But it has to be refrigerated, and I'm flying on Wednesday.

My question is, what do I do about it? I read online that I can bring the medicine on the plane with me in my carry-on, I just have to declare it because it won't fit in the quart size bag. So I have to tell the security guy that I have it so he can search it more thoroughly. But, what do I do about the refrigeration part? I don't think I can bring ice packs on the plane and I don't know if I should risk going without it being cold. I was thinking of bringing an extra baggie and once I got on the plane ask for some ice to put in the bag so the medicine could go in there, but is that ok?

I would do what you have to do to get through security and then go to a fast food place or whatever is in the airport that sells food and ask and or pay for a cup of ice (some shops take cups as inventory just so your aware) and transfer the medication into a baggie with some of the ice (just keep refilling it because it might melt on you!) Then when you get on the plane just be very straight forward with the FA and normally 9 times out of 10 they will do their best to be accomadating. Hope your tear duct gets better, I had that a year ago and it is not fun!
