Looks like a pretty cool game. Found out about it a week ago. One of my friends who bought it says that he loved it. However, I need moar opinions.

I played it for sometime on a private server. It's very fun, but it takes a lot of time also. If you're willing to put in the effort, the end results can be very amazing.

It's great fun, and there's still more to come since it's only in beta.

You serious? Do you live in a cave or something? This is a really popular game. I would think it's worth fifteen dollars.

Alright, I have decided.
I will buy it after I come back from my spring break trip at Texas :D

I would play it, but nah. Cbf.

Does seem really good, though. Even the graphics aren't top notch.

Graphics don't define a game.

it looks absolutely awful imo. i mean, the graphics - and i'm not even a graphics junky at all. it's a major downgrade from the freaking mario games for the old nintendo.

however, it is in beta... i guess if they made it better than like 24x48, it might be alright...

You have to be joking, right?
The game's resolution, is actually incredibly high. The textures, are low-res, yes, but THAT'S THE STYLE OF THE GAME! (It's called an INDIE game for a reason, you know)
Notch isn't going to make the textures any better, there /are/ skin packs you can download, there's even an 'HD' one if you're that picky about how it looks.

@ the OP; the game is absolutely incredible, and addictive as hell.
Yes, it's totally worth the money. I mean, ~$20USD is a STEAL IMO. I'd be more than willing to pay $40+

YES. You don't need to pay for a monthly subscription like alot of other multiplayer gaes, and it has alot more play value, you will be playing it for YEARS after you buy it.

It's about doing whatever the fuck you feel like.
There is no point (Other than to survive, and build/create/construct whatever you can imagine)
And it's an open-sandbox type game.
It's not really a demo, but you can play the 'classic' version here for free: http://www.minecraft.net/play.jsp
Please note though: That the classic version is NOWHERE near what the current beta is.

And there's plenty of servers, both public & private, that you can join. (If by 'private' you're meaning non-minecraft run servers, then ALL of them are 'private'.)

Can I ask something? How many people work in this game's crew? Only Markus Persson? Because the graphics... You know what I mean.

Though the game looks fun.

Because it is a lo-fi game, and it is ment for low-end system. But it looks addicting.

Graphics don't make the game. Shit, this saying is like a broken record.

If you don't like the original graphics, you can download texture skins, even make it frickin' HD. There's so much you can do in this game. I can't even list because there's so much. And with more and more players making custom add-ons and mods to the game, it just gets even better.

Thanks. This thread got me into it. I can barely remember to sleep. o.O I found this massive underground cavern the first time I decided to dig, with both a pool of lava and water, so there was already obsidian there. I lost my diamond pickaxe though and I don't have enough to make another one.

Absolutely worth every penny in my opinion
