A pet peeve of mine.

I help someone day after day and they don't help me back. It's like...as soon as I mention being upset, the conversation goes back to them. Every fucking person. They say you can't help someone until I can help myself...

Some people are just self-centered, or aren't very good at helping someone else. Either those certain people want to talk about them self or they're not sure exactly how to respond in those serious situations in trying to console you. Don't take it too personally, some people just aren't very good at helping each other out and making someone else feel better.

I understand how that could be frustrating.

The only thing is though, when doing something for someone else you can't automatically expect them to be just as considerate. Actually, I've learned you should never expect it. Doing good deeds for someone should be something you want to do, that makes you happy without anything else being given to you. If they're being ungracious, I would stop helping them to be honest. They don't deserve your help being wasted on them, when you could help someone else who would appreciate it.
