Take a step down from your beautiful horse
Allow the new feelings to bring you remorse
His shoes are now worn with years of harsh wear
Still he'll follow behind you with a life full of care
Let him rest with his back open and bare
Take him a comb and brush his soft hair
He has ridden long and unchanging roads
Carrying bundles of passenger loads
Your beautiful horse is not far from deceased
He is young in his age but now old on his feet
He's carried you miles and loved you for long
But your horse is quite tired, sing him a song
It's your turn to hold him and give him your heart
This horse has carried you through worlds far apart
Stroke him and feed him, he'll show you his ways
Your poor horse is nearing the end of his days
His standing is shorter with breathes coming hard
Your horse will remember, you'll played the right card
You've treated him well and given him care
His soul will not die, but live on in the air
Your beautiful horse has taken his rest
Within mother earth he lays on her breast
Remembering his rider who loved him the best
Your beautiful horse, made a beautiful quest
Allow the new feelings to bring you remorse
His shoes are now worn with years of harsh wear
Still he'll follow behind you with a life full of care
Let him rest with his back open and bare
Take him a comb and brush his soft hair
He has ridden long and unchanging roads
