PS3, By default really. but no doubt it will be best on a PC.

I also want to buy it for PS3, no bugs, no cheats and mods therefore a realistic game but...
I quite enjoyed it with the mods when I had Obby for PC, so I don't know.
Maybe I'll first buy it for PS3 then buy it for PC to experience the mods, etc.

If I get a new rig, then it'll be for the PC.

Apart from mods and all the add ons, did Oblivion perform much differently between console and PC? Oblivion worked fine with a little bit of freezing and the odd framerate drop on the console, but i'm worried that they might screw Skyrim over and do a Fallout job; especially with a more powerful engine.

That is what I am saying, only advantage of PC is it's mods.

They aren't suing Minecraft, they're suing Mojang. Also, it isn't by Bethesda's own doing, it's from a bunch of lawyers who are taking action without Vlatko Andonov's permission. It'll probably be settled out of court with an undisclosed sum of money anyway.

I've pre-ordered it for PS3, but I'm sure there'll be people who disagree with me.
Still, I would recommend getting the PS3 version. The graphics are amazing.

Most sincerely,
Robert.

Bethesda is suing Mojang (and Notch I should add) for their new game "Scrolls". Apparently, this infringes on the copy right Bethesda has on "The Elder Scrolls".

Skyrim doesn't have co-op or multiplayer, so it would be useless to play with friends.

If they had a co-op mode, this game would reign for the next 5 years.

Xbox cause gaming on my computer frustrates me at the best of times.

My computer is not one for gaming, so Xbox 360. Also, for those of you who are afraid of the freezing and what not (like in Fallout 3), installing the game to your HDD is a great solution. I did it with Fallout 3, and now it never freezes.

I've heard that with the new engine, Bethesda's also using a new testing sequence that should ideally vastly reduce any bugs, lag etc.

I'll buy the game in several days and I just watched a 3 minute gameplay ( the part where they bring you with the cart ) and it's...

Oh come on, even if I were to list all positive adjectives in the world it wouldn't be enough for Skyrim.

>that feel when your PC couldn't handle it because of the video requirements

Once I upgrade my PC, I'm playing Skyrim on it. There's no doubt in my mind that it is way better on PC than it is on consoles. But I'm happy with the PS3 version. No glitches as of yet, but I'm only 15 hours in.

Anyone else go through Bleak Falls Barrow?

That was the "dungeon" in the E3 demo right?

That is indeed a problem.

Any Bethesda game is just flat-out better on PC. It's a rule of the universe, and it's also the most ironic thing given how they love to consolize their releases. Vanilla BS releases are always "okay, kinda good", the modding community is what makes their games memorable and push them towards excellence. Vanilla Oblivion is a fucking mess. Get some moddin' going on and suddenly it's the best game ever.

Anybody not getting it on PC other than because of sys reqs is really, really missing out. That's like paying for a handjob from a prostitute when you could have the whole package for not much more effort.

Yeah, I believe so. The word wall in the Sanctum was annoying as hell until I finally figured out how to get the combination.

I've played Bethesda's two Fallout releases on my PC and I thought they were fine. I also played the console releases of them too and it was obviously a port to console. I think Skyrim is definitely one of those "consoles first" games, and it does fit very well on consoles for that purpose. I think I'll get a better look at the game once I play the PC version, which I know is going to be automatically better thanks to graphics mods.
