So I'm coming to a point in my life where I'm going to need to get a job. I turn 17 in less than a month and plan to get a job this summer. That way I won't have to balance school and work among other things. Plus I'll have early release next year(my senior year) so I won't have a problem with school. I also get my license around my 17th birthday so I'm gonna need gas money and money for other things.

I'm not worried about how to go about getting a job or anything like that. I'm more nervous about what the experience will be like. I've never had a job so I don't know what to expect.

I know that what kind of experience I have will depend on what kind of job I get, who I work with, etc. It's just a bit nerveracking going into a situation I've never been in before. Plus I'll be working with people my age and with people over twice my age so it might be weird.

How did you deal with the experience that is a first job, how did you deal with your first day, and what can I expect?

Thanks.

Its a great idea to get a job just so you can have extra money when needed
so good luck with getting one if you havent already :)

As for the experience, its your first job. So its going to be a lot different then what your used to.
As to what you can expect, it depends on what kind of person you are.
I know for me I was super nervous but about 10 minutes after shift started i was talking to my co-workers and it was fun! so if you can become friends with your co-workers it makes the job more fun and the shift go a lot faster with them to talk to.

It will be fun. It will be nerve racking too. I worked at Disneyland at their Gift Shop as my first job. I met a ton of friends which I still talk to. Your first job is always going to be the one you remember the most.

Just don't make the same mistake I did. Me and my co-worker Amber were being constantly harassed by one of our supervisors. We kept getting blamed for things we never did. So we decided to take revenge on this. I mean we were both 16, and thought if we get fired so what. We kept calling in sick everyday. Pretty soon, the manager figured out our trick, and we were both fired. So don't argue with your boss. Don't get into fight with customers.

Good luck. :)
