I've tried. But you're not really supposed to give up a sin for lent. you can try not to jack off during lent but its not really appropriate to jack off after lent either, see what I mean? It may be easier not to masturbate during Lent, but I don't think it's an appropriate sacrifice for lent. Because after Lent you can go back to what you gave up.
