I had a math test today, but since we all didn't have enough time to finish, we're allowed to look them over on Monday for a few minutes. Yes, my teacher realizes that we're going to look up anything we don't know. That's the beauty of my teacher. We've had 4 tests all year. One of them got turned into a homework assignment, one we were allowed to work in groups, one we could use our notes on, and this one we can look over on Monday. Life is great.

But anyways, we had a sub during this unit quite a few times actually, who was supposed to be good at math, but wasn't. Our teacher went over this stuff, but didn't explain it fully.

I'm taking Precalc, but right now we're doing a Trig unit.

The question was: Write as an algebraic expression: sec(arcsin(x-1))

I've been trying to come up with ways to solve it, but none of them have worked in my favor really.

Any ideas?

did you try drawing a triangle? I did something similar like this...

That would be lovely. :) My friend and I worked on it a bit, and we figured something out, but we want to be sure that it's right.

That's what my friend and I just did, we're hoping it worked out in our favor. When the sub was teaching the lesson to us he didn't really explain that we could do that, although I suppose we could have figured it out on our own. Ah, well.

Thank you. :) My friend and I figured that out too, I'm just glad we had it right because we got the same answer as you. :P
