This morning I was chewing on a piece of gum and I noticed my jaw started popping every time I moved it around. It was pretty annoying and it got worse and worse to the point where I couldn't even open my mouth fully.
I went to the clinic multiple times to ice it, they said it should go away in a day or so and I just sprained something. It seems to keep switching between very small to little pain, to pain so bad I can't even open my mouth. I can't chew like anything because of this.
My mom said she has TMJ so I might have that, but I'm really worried I will have to wear some kind of brace or so on it, and you can imagine how bad a 15 year old's life like that will be -.-
Any advice VT?

Go see a doctor. It could develop into lockjaw.

It's gotten much better. I'll see a doctor if it doesn't go away in a few days.

TMJ just can require surgery. Don't worry, you won't be in a brace for the rest of your life. You'll recover in a couple month's time, and if they end up doing the splint, you won't be going to school in it.
That's what we think I have. It hasn't started hurting yet, but my jaw has popped for as long as I can remember, and my jaw is aligned in a weird way that makes it difficult to bite in a certain way.
I also know someone who has it, the pain came on just as suddenly and she couldn't open her mouth, so she got emergency surgery for it.
Definitely see someone about it if it doesn't get better, as that could be it.

I've had something similar, my jaw would consitently lock when I was eating something that required chewing, like steak. It got so bad to the point that when it was happening I felt like I would break my jaw at some point since it would be a random occurence, I learnt myself how to manouvre my mouth to unlock it though and it eventually went away.

That happens to me sometimes. It'll just start snapping ( different from popping? ) whenever I move it. It gets annoying but then it goes away. Awhile back I used to get jaw pains too, my jaw would even crack sometimes. It's stopped though.

Could it be part of the growing process, like growth pain?

Hey guys. It seems to be better, but whenever I eat, my jaw starts popping like crazy, and it hurts after awhile. I tried asking if my mom would take me to a doctor, but all I get is "No, they aren't going to be able to do anything about it" or "Maybe in a few weeks". I'm really worried this is serious, and I want to get it looked at as soon as possible..

Some TMJ cases, what happens is especially at night you grind your teeth and it puts a lot of pressure on your jaw to the point to where you will have symptoms as such. Though the cure for that is there is a nightguard for your mouth, it's like what the football players wear to make sure they don't bit their tongue off, it just fits to your teeth and you sleep with it on so there's no hardcore damage to your jaw or your teeth. You can get these are places like Walgreens, CVS, shit like that. Pretty reasonable. Although if it continues to get worse go see a doctor so they can properly tell you what should be done because I'm no doctor.

Another possibility is that your wisdom teeth might be coming in or it could be Tempromandibular Joint Disorder like some have said. I would advise going to see a dentist............... hope I helped
