Hey, my Alienware computer that i've been happily gaming on for over 2 years now recently decided it's not going to work anymore :(
So now I'm looking for a new computer but I dont really like the new look Alienware laptops, does anyone know any other big computer gaming brands I could check out :)
Thanks in advance,
Genna.

I used to have this really nice Acer laptop that looked like it was made for gaming in mind. Ran very nicely, expensive though. Acer has specifically gaming computers however, like the Predator desktops, awesome computers, and some gaming notebooks. Otherwise, my only other gaming computer I've had was Alienware.

Holy balls don't buy anything pre-built EVER. Alienware in particular is horrible, you probably thought your computer was good because it cost $3000, but you could have built that for less than $500. Find a website that builds laptops(technically not pre-built since they don't have a real manufacturer) and you can get them a lot better and a lot cheaper.

What do you guys mean by build up? You mean like buy a cheap desktop and then buy all the necessary hardware, or do you mean like ordering a custom computer from Dell?

You buy all the parts for yourself, you don't buy anything pre built, you just buy individual components.

Buy all parts separately, including the computer case. Don't rely on pre-built/customizable stuff if you want to build a top-level gaming machine.

So basically, your making the computer from scratch including every component required? Wouldn't that make for an extremely lengthy project? :P

nope, buy everything in one go
it takes about 2 - 5 hours depending on the complexity
