Okay I havent cut in a week, Im feeling pretty good right now - had a HUGE fight with my parents last sunday and I cut that night, but I havent since. I think we worked things out, and I even got my computer and t.v. back (that is why Ive been gone for a while).
My question is, will my scars go away? The ones Im worried about were made with a pocket knife, and I think a few of them I either picked the scab off or I re cut it, they have been here for weeks, they are a purple color now and very visible. Ive never had scars last this long and Im worried that they will be there forever, or a really long time. Id like them to go away so I can get on with my life, and maybe possibly leave this thing behind me.
Is it okay if I post a picture of the scars so someone can help? Im hesitant to do this because a. Im not sure if it would be allowed and b. Id rather not look like I was trying to attract attention by showing the scars. I really just need help from someone who knows scars pretty well. By posting a picture Id figure you guys could better judge their severity, then try to judge from a bad description. Any products or ideas to make them go away is also appreciated.
Please let me know soon!

You said the scars were a purple color, are they raised, or puffy?
Most likely they'll take a while to turn white but then you're stuck with a white scar, but depending on your complexion the white scar usually isn't very visable. But then again, I'm pretty pale.
Re-cutting isn't good if you want them to go away. I'm sorry, I don't mean to sound like a bitch, but a wound can only heal itself so many times before it leaves a nasty scar.
About the picture, ask a mod or admin, they might allow it.
If not, could you PM it to me, sorry I'm kinda shooting in the dark without a visual.
I'm sorry, not much help.

The purple scars are not puffy, they are flat and ever so slightly raised. I have some white scars as well not as noticeable. If the purple ones turn white - I think you will still be able to see them, my skin is pretty pale - Ive havent tanned good since I was maybe 10, I used to play outside all the time.
And at the time, I didnt care if I had scars left or not, I do believe I re cutt them several times.
Ill ask a mod later, or maybe Ill just send the pic to you.

Aren't any scars supposed to last forever unless you get surgery or something to remove them? I still have that scar on my knee from like 7 years ago. I think scars last forever, unless you get them remove from one of those skin treatment, sorry.
Scar - A mark left on the skin after a surface injury or wound has healed.
Yea, so the skin is already healed but a mark is left. I think scars will stay forever unless surgery or w/e it's called. The skin can't heal more if it's already heal. Sorry, but I could be 100% wrong.

Some of your scars will go away and some will stay for years. Its one of the prices we have to pay for cutting. But they have creams you can get that reduce scar apperence. But you shouldn't be afraid people seeing them.If your done cutting then theres nothing to worry about. If people ask just say tell them that you went trew a rough patch in life and we all have our falts and scars.Cutter's just happen to be visable.

Also, come summer time spend time in the sun. Idk what it is, but something about the sunlight helps reduce how obvious they are. It worked for me. You just have to be with people you trust not to make remarks about them while doing this.

People already ask me like everyday if I cut myself, I dont feel like it is any of their business so I just dont say anything. And it's not like Im ashamed, I just dont like to see total strangers looking at my arms and raising their eyebrows, judging me like they already know everything about me. The scars give me a bad reputation to anybody who sees them and doesnt really know me, it's just not necessary.
Im going to go ahead and post the picture, if mods have a problem with it - just go ahead and remove it.
Here it is, scars are hard to see - they really arent serious but they are visible if you see them in person. If you cant see them well enough, I can try to take better ones.

There's no problem. If you ever have a question about posting a pic, then send it to the mod of that forum, a g-mod, or admin, make sure you put some kinda warning in the title, and message. That's the best way to check.
As to your real problem, I don't know, sorry.

It's hard to see but I'm sorry, I'm afraid it's gonna leave a white scar.
Maybe try some Vitamin E, there's scar reducing cream and patches you could try to not make it as noticeable. I'm sorry.

Thanks, and it's okay - my fault.
I talked to my mom and we are going to get some vitamin e stuff to help with it, so maybe they wont be as visible.
Im kind of feeling sad that they will go away, but at the same time I just dont want to see them anymore. Maybe I wont touch one of them...is that weird?
