I think that the Wii-mote is a cool, thought but what about the gamers who are tired and just want to sit down and play a game without haveing to flail there arms around to play. I just think it wont measure up over time.

The gestures you see on tv are exaggerated, you really just need a flick of the wrist usually.

Personally, I love the WiiMote. I think it was one of the most revolutionary concepts in the gaming industry. Not only does this WiiMote allow players to get into the game experience more, but now it allows inactive people to participate in experiences that they might not have been able to before - for instance, golf.
My friend at school is awfully bias against the WiiMote and says "If I wanted to swing a golf club, I'd swing a golf club." This Sony fan-boy doesn't seem to grasp the counter idea I give: "If you want to swing a golf club, yes, you could simply either buy some or borrow someone's and swing it, however, video games have a goal, just as the sport golf does. Some people might not be able to afford buying a complete, finely tuned set of golf clubs, privately rent out an entire golf course and then have the endurance and skill to correctly and accurately hit the golf ball."
So is it just me, or is there a bigger idea behind the WiiMote than just mimicking the swing of objects? :)

It's very easy. I played Red Steel with both my arms on armwrests, and the motion that it takes to aim is very little. The swordplay requires me to lift my arms off the chair, but it's not like half the game is swordplay (well, OK, half the concept behind the game is, but you will spend much more time without the swordplay than you will with it). Even the swprdplay can be switched to a "short movement" mode, which I haven't tried. I just enjoy the feel it has right now. Oh, and as for all the critisism of Red Steel, it's certainly not a monolithe, but it is better than what most people say about it. I had fun, but the last boss battle was too easy for my taste.

let me just say this... i am posting this from my wii, which is the single most technologically advanced item in my room, and i love this system. try making a post this long on ur psp, and u get writers cramp. it changed my morning routine, as i now check the weather, news, and my myspace early on. My motherboard in my pc blew out with my power supply, so i rely on wii for my internet needs (my mac ships this week though) BUY A WII!!!

As an added bonus, they didn't think to put parental controls for the internet, so your 5 year old can look at porn :D

Yeah, Popo doesn't think too much before he posts, don't worry about it (;))
The Wii includes parental controls for games and channels, so as long as one has parental controls set, nothing bad should happen. Nintendo thinks about their products - you really can expect more from them and companies like Microsoft and Sony.
The Wii's awesome, I'm going to wait until I don't have wait in line 30 minutes before GameStop opens to actually buy one. :D
