I don't hate the dentist himself, I just hate going to the dentist.
I got told today I have to get a filling and two other little things done in a few weeks. But ever since I had my last filling I've been feeling really scared of going to the dentist. I hate having the anaesthetic injection because of the sensation it gives your mouth - making your gum feel like rubber. All the tools they put in your mouth are just horrible too. The drills, how they suck the moisture out of your mouth etc. It's just a nightmare in my eyes.

I just need help before I go at the end of March to get it all done. I don't want to be scared of it, but at the moment I am. I just need some kind of confidence boost to help me through it.

Thanks, guys.

Toughen up. You only feel the shot for 2 seconds. Your mouth is only going to be numb for a few hours. It's only the dentist. You don't want your teeth to fall out do you?

I hate the dentist too. Once a few years ago I was going to have one of my Hume cut out and they numbed me, then wandered into another room to deal with some "emergency." by the time they got back the numbing had worn off and they went ahead with the procedure. They just kind of cut part of my mouth off. (it was growing over my teeth.)

Ouch.

Yea, I had to go to a tribunal because it turns out my old dentist only had a "special interest" in orthodontist work and just decided to take random teeth out.

What I hate most bout the dentist is the aftereffects of the Novocaine shot, your mouth stays uncomfortably numb
