I've felt like this before. I suppose you feel like it's a place where you can "rest" and get out of your everyday life. Maybe also you think in there your problems will be taken seriously.

You sound like you need a vacation from your family. Get involved with a youth program in your area that takes trips to places. If you spend all your time around the same people it will drive you crazy.

I feel like this too. Actually, I kinda (really) feel like this right now. Just a question though, is it worth ti?

I feel like this all the time, even though I'm there at the least every year.

Like Mark said, is it really going to be worth it? The strip-search, the constant supervision, horrible food, medication you might not like, not seeing any of your friends? And it might not even be a week. I've seen kids stuck in the short-term places for as long as a month. You can't choose how long you stay there, only your doctor can.

My prediction, is that it's just a feeling, and when you get in there you will wonder why the hell you thought it was a good idea. I agree, something about psych wards, the thought of them is calming, intriguing. You'll regret it though, if this is just the attraction to it. Psych wards are places to get help. It's not a YMCA for anyone who wants to stay there.

Try seeing if you can stay/visit relatives, go to a sleepaway camp. It's perfectly reasonable to want a break, I've been there. But I've made the same mistake searching for that break in a psych ward.
