Would you kiss one of you male friends on the lips? And if so, would you consider this gay?:what:

An act cannot be gay. Doing something doesn't make you gay. Being gay is a noun, a sexuality - a label to describe your personal feelings, not an adjective to describe an action.

I wouldn't kiss one of my friends. For some reason it would feel awkward, but I would kiss someone I don't know as well.

Whether it was gay or not depends on the context and whether there is any emotion behind it. If, for example, it was part of a truth and dare, its not gay at all.

As Jon said a kiss cannot be gay. Kissing a guy doesnt make you gay. You are only gay if you picture yourself having a relationship with a guy. It's not just about sex.

I think I would if it didn't make our relationship awkward. It wouldn't make me or him gay because its just can action, it doesn't reflect our feelings.

Actually if you have a dictionary and looked it up gay can be used as an adjective. Also, only adverbs describe actions.

Also, In the case of today's society a guy kissing a member of the same sex would be considered "Gay" by most people, but Donkey was somewhat right, kissing a guy doesn't make you gay. Loving and liking only men physically, mentally, and emotionally makes you homosexual.

I wouldn't kiss a male friend unless we were both consenting.

I said being gay, putting it in context of a human being actually being gay. Thus in reference to the sexuality, thus the noun. I will admit that what I said was a little dodgy in English terms and I used it to strengthen my point (as good writers tend to do), but the fact is that a noun is not an adjective. I don't dispute that the word gay is an adjective in modern slang English to describe something perceived as being related to homosexuality though. As for your second point regarding adverbs, you are right - that's what you get from learning advanced English skills via the Internet rather than academic education; you miss out on being sharp with the useless bits of technical language knowledge. However, this is in the assumption that the word 'gay' is used to describe the action rather than the subject of the action, whereas in this case we are referring to PEOPLE being gay as the RESULT of an action, thus in this sense we are using the word gay as an adjective rather than an adverb. So yes, I made a mistake in how I described adjectives describing actions however in the actual context of the post, we would use adjectives so in reality it wasn't the 'adjective' -> 'adverb' that you should have corrected me on but rather referencing to the action rather than the subject of the action. Good day Sir.

I have kissed a couple of guys. One of those kisses was so intensely incredible that it let me know that I am pretty much gay under my straight cover. We weren't even really friends at the time so good kisses don't have to be because of a relationship, but it probably would help...at least to have a chance to repeat! I don't think kissing a guy will make you gay....but it could be surprisingly so much fun that it might make you consider the possibilities.

Russian males greet each other by kissing each other on lips, it isn't something gay.

Kiss a friend? No, that'd be awkward, and I wouldn't do it unless he was gay and I was interested in him and I knew he was interested in me.

Defining actions as gay or not gay is silly, it's the people that are gay.

I would, maybe. Depends on who, some people it would be more awkward than others, some might just be too awkward. Do I think it's gay, not at all.

If I had feelings for them or thought they were good looking, sure.
I agree with what the others have said about how you can only 'be' gay, an act can't be defined as gay.

I would kiss a male friend on the lips. And it depends on your reasoning for doing it. Like if you had a crush on him..Id consider that bi or gay. But if it was a dare then i think thatd be normalish ha. But the person who dared you might have been gay..

Hey Smitty -- I've never kissed a guy before but I'd kiss you! But yes, it's gay if we did. I personally wouldn't worry about the label.
