Is nudity something that should be hidden and covered up, whether its in real life or a movie or something like that, or is it normal and something that should be less censored than it is right now.

Depends on the specific person's view who is asked. If you ask me I think nudity is natural. But, if you ask your neighbor or teacher, their opinion on the topic will be different. So, it solely depends on the person you ask and their opinion.

Not something to cover up, but in some situations society just doesn't see it as appropriate. When you're chilling with mates, family if that's alright with them, or you're at a nudist resort then you're alright to be naked. Otherwise you might want to put a bit of thought into it or you might attract a few dodgy looks and a bit of law enforcement :P
Actually, kind of misread the post. Thought it was more generic P101. I think while nudity is over worried about and we should learn to love our bodies, clothes ARE comfortable and warm. Human evolution, my friend. It's safest not to be nude.

Nudity is very over rated in society today. I believe in situations that are not of high importance nudity should be acceptable. Although, this wouldn't permit sexual acts in public.
In opposition to this it would also make crimes easier to commit by making nude people vulnerable.

Thanks to those scumbag social conservatives, the human body has become a taboo. They treat it as if it's some kind of dangerous poison for children. No, seeing Janet Jackson's boob for a fraction of a second on TV does not merit a multi-million dollar fine (a classic example of the government overstepping the boundaries between state and economy and acting as "moral police").
We need a society where the human body and sexuality in general is a topic open for discussion, not something oppressed in the name of bullshit moral values.

No, there is not really any reason to bar people from being naked. In public or otherwise.

Wow. Creeper alert. But on a serious note, nudity is a natural thing. Censoring it is like censoring breathing.

its fine to be nude, I dont see a problem with it.... apart from aparently wearing no clothes in public places being illegal O.O but then again I take after my mums side of my family so I walk around naked all the time at home and have always done, to me its natural cause its the way ive been brought up. but if you arnt used to naked people it would be awkard or embarresing maybe :S

I think the body is just a tad bit censored to much, but it's your body, use it the way you want it I guess.
But it'd be kind of awkward like, going to school and stuff like that, or picking up your kid from day care, or going to Starbucks or something.

Embarrasing now, most certainly. But that's only because we've got it drilled into our minds that the perfectly natural is unnacceptable. But then again, the world's a fucked up place anyway, so stupid taboos like this are only to be expected.

Well, I'd rather not go about my daily business naked, not because nowadays it's considered unacceptable and so on, but simply because it's either too cold, too hot, or I can easily injure myself, and the list of disadvantages goes on. In that sense it's better to be clothed.
But the way society sees nudity nowadays is just, you know... ridiculous.

On a practical sense, I sympathise with those saying it's "too cold" or "too dangerous" at times to go without clothes; on a practical level they really do have use. That said, it should be a choice, and the over-sexualised and "forbidden" nature of the naked body has become ridiculous, as if each person does not have what anyone else of the same gender also has. It's as absurd as having to cover your mouth because your mouth could say rude words.
The morality behind some clothing justifications are absurd and make little sense beyond trying to control people in some way.

If someone rips off their skin, I'll consider someone nude.

Yeah i know you said you were kidding - but I think thats where nudity is misunderstood. Most people just don't look that great without clothes. I think if you aren't used to it you expect it to be a sexy experience but honestly its not when all you have to look at are your own family or crinkly oldies or fat people or whatever. I dont' mean its not fun to be naked, but my only experience of public nudity was in a sauna / solarium at a hotel and I was relieved there weren't any cute guys around to be honest.
There is no logical reason to have to wear special clothes to swim recreationally or sunbathe or sleep or a bunch of things like that. There are good reasons for people to be exposed to nudity because it becomes normal and removes most of the 'sexiness' and I think that is more healthy.
