View Full Version : Okay so i kept cutting

okay so, i posted something about how i was cutting and it wasnt bleeding and so i didnt stop cutting. I found out that i wasnt cutting right and i thought if i saw the blood then i would stop. well i saw the blood and i havnt stopped. Im not sure why i keep doing. I felt fat and so i thought one cut would punish my self for eating heaps today and i dont feel bad for cutting.
not exactly sure why im posting but just advice?

Cutting is addictive and most people,including myself, get hooked once they start. The sooner you get over self harm the better. I'd probably recomend the elastic band around wrist and snapping it against your skin when you feel like you need to 'punish' yourself.
Music helps me the most, try listening to some feel good songs...Or alternativly, some deep ones you can relate to.
You can do this, just keep strong, we're here for you. :)

First of all I just want to say there is no way of "cutting right" its a lot safer if you don't draw blood. However all cutting is bad,and I know you'll have heard this before but it's really not something you want to involve yourself in, you need to stop whilst you're ahead.

As has been said, cutting is an addiction and the longer you do it, the harder it is to stop. It's incredibly difficult for me and i would hate you to be in the same position. Try to refrain from cutting I know it's easier said than done but just remember if you stop now it will be so much easier than it will be months down the line.

I too would suggest the elastic band, it hurts but doesn't leave a mark. Also if you do like to see the blood possibly drawing on yourself in red pen where you want to cut.

However if you really want to stop, and get rid of these feelings then you need to address the issues and problems that are causing you to cut. And either try to fix them or change your attitude towards them.

Another thing that people have told me that helps is getting an ice cube and squeezing it.

I draw most the time, Happy things, or agressive things, basically cartoons that show my emotions or feelings :) It helps me alot!!

thanks for the advice, i used the ice cube one and i havnt Cut since i posted this. I didnt really get much sleep trying to convince my self it was okay to just cut once but i didnt.

Well done for not cutting, as everyone else has said really, give some of the techniques a go and see which ones work for you.
But try and stop as soon as you can, while you still can before it becomes addicting.

i havent cut once since I posted this. I dug into my hands with my nails for a bit but I stopped and i think itsss all good.
