Last night, I went to a party, we went and got some McDonalds, and on the way back, a rather morbid and unforseeable event occcured.
The news reported it as
A 22-year-old New Zealand man has died after climbing on top of a moving Sydney train. Police say the man was badly burnt when he clambered onto the top of the train about 8pm yesterday.

He was unconscious when his mates pulled him back in and began performing first aid while the train stopped at Windsor station, in Sydney's far northwest.

Paramedics also tried to help the man, but he died in Hawkesbury District Hospital a short time later.

"The man appeared to have suffered burns to his body and a post mortem will be conducted to determine the
cause of death," a police statement said today.

"The possibility the man was hit by electrical wires while on top of the train is being investigated."

I guess it put me in a state of shock last night, I didn't mention it to anybody, but it really fucked me over.

As I read this, It set in that that was the first time I've seen death with my own eyes.
I'm kinda pissed because the news has it wrong, His mates didn't help at all, if anything they made it worse by trying to resusitate him incorrectly, it took my friend to help.
All night I thought about what I'd seen, and stuff, and only thismorning it hit me, that I watched a man die.
I don't exactly know what I'm feeling, but i know somethings not the same in my head...

Sorry for the loss. Witnessing someones death is hard and can scar you mentally. Even worse if the person was a relative or a close friend. The news never gets story exactly right. Just hang in there and talk to one of your friends or parents about this. They could help you out.

That must have been so traumatic for you. It's never good to witness someone lose their life, right in front of you. But unfortunately, that is life. We all die, and even though you probably didn't know the man, you still feel some sort of remorse. I'm sure you will be alright, but it really does change your outlook on things once you witness events like that.

That's a horrible thing to have witnessed, its not surprising if you are shaken up by it. If you have flashbacks or trouble sleeping talk to your doctor or see if you can get any counselling.

That's a horrible thing to have seen. As Nick said, if you experience anything such as flashbacks etc, don't be afraid to get help, it's a horrible thing to go through i'm sure, and not something that's easy to just "forget".

I assume you where with your friends at time time? So they also witnessed it? Maybe you could talk to them about it? It might help.
