I think this (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/faq.php?faq=vb3_user_profile#faq_vb3_private_messages) needs to be updated. Since, after all it is a Frequently Asked Questions section, and the whole "why do you need 100 posts to pm" is frequently asked, it would help. Because I just read that and no where does it talk about the 100 post limit and why it is there.

Private Messaging: -Currently, you must have 100 posts to have the capability to PM (Private Message) members. If you have under 100 posts, you may only PM staff members. - If you are found to be posting spam simply to be able to use the PM system, your posts will be deleted and you may be warned by a staff member and infracted if you continue to do it a second time. - If you feel that somebody that has messaged you has abused the private messaging system (see below) you can report the private message and an Administrator will look into it.
It's under Other Guidelines I believe. It pops up when you search FAQ for Private Messaging.

It's not under Private Messaging, though. I can't even find what you found.

- Abuse of Private Messaging 1. Soliciting of any of the following: cyber sex, camming, inappropriate picture trading, inappropriate questions of a sexual nature, asking for phone numbers and other personal information. 2. Asking for Instant Messaging addresses with the intention of doing anything in section 1. 3. Harassment and trolling through the PM system will not be allowed, and if you are reported for it, an Administrator will look over both yours and the accuser’s private messages to determine the validity of the complaint.
Abuse of private messaging via section 1 or section 2 will result in your account being permanently banned, no exceptions.
Abuse of private messaging via section 3 will result in one of the following: a warning, suspension of your private messaging abilities, an infraction, or banning, depending on the severity of the case and your prior history of behavior."
Yup, it's under Other Guidelines. (:

But it should be under Private Messaging FAQs since it is a frequently asked question about private messaging.

I don't see anything wrong with it being just where it is. Members are expected to read the rules, and if they read the rules, then you don't need to have it posted twice.

Quoted for truth. Not only is there the FAQ but there is also a welcome to PM with these details already explained in, we can't be any fairer than that if they don't read it its their own fault to be honest.

I just feel it's in the wrong place. It's a frequently asked question, and no new member is going to go hunting through the FAQ, cause I mean I couldn't even find it without searching. I think it'd make more sense to move it to the private messaging part.

It's a frequently asked question, and no new member is going to go hunting through the FAQ.
Then why add it to the FAQ if no new member will even read the FAQ?
And as Kaius said, which I was unaware of due to join dates, it's already given to them on a silver platter via PM as soon as they join. What more do they need? They're expected to read the rules, where this is explained, and then they're bitch-slapped with it through a welcome PM.
Hell, repeating stupidity (not you for asking for an update, I'm referring to negligent new members) such as ignoring the READ THE GOD DAMNED RULES YOU FUCKING NEWB concept and the "WELCOME TO VT-This might be helpful to read, dip shit" PM that comes to them might as well be met with a warning.
"Read the rules before asking stupid shit, you've been warned."
I would love to see a mod say that. x) Oh my little heart would grow warm.

I know you slightly brought it up, but it's apparent that they don't fucking read it cause they still make threads about it. I'm just saying put it in the actual relevant section for PMing since I'm sure some of them read the FAQ. I read the FAQ when I first joined.

Do you think anyone reads rules?

Do you think anyone reads rules?
It's their fault if they don't. They will soon learn what happens if you don't. Rules are in place for a lot of reasons, but they're here or your safety and to assure that everyone has a good time. If people choose not to read the rules, then they shall soon find out soon enough what happens if they don't.
The suggestion for the sticky in the HQ is being done by staff, when it is completed, you shall see the final results. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask me.
