So for the past hour or so, I've been trying to install the new service pack for Windows 7. Every single time, I keep getting the error code 8007000D. I haven't been able to find anything useful on various Google searches relating to the problem and I'm literally stumped as to what's making the installation fail. I'm currently using a 64-bit edition of 7. Could it be possible that something went wrong during the downloading process of the update?

1st things first,

1. System Specs.

2. [the main one] IS YOUR WINDOWS REAL.

System Specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.00 GHz
ASUS P5QL-PRO Motherboard
750GB Western Digital Hard Drive
PCI-E2 Sapphire HD4670 512MB
8GB DDR2 Memory

Copy of Windows is real. Got it from my father who got it from an .iso download from MSDN and burned to a bootable DVD. Valid product key (also acquired by father).

check these

1. is the dvd damaged in any way(scratches, etc.)?
2. did your dad download the right version(processor type - in your case x86_64/i686 or ia64)?
3. was the file corrupted during the download?
