whats your definition of a best friend?

Someone you can trust with your life. Someone who you enjoy being around anytime. A person who brings your spirits up and keeps you entertained. Someone who can be considered a sibling but isn't. A best friend for me is someone I can spend 24 hours a day without getting bored. I can tell that person anything and believe they'll never let it come out of their mouth. A person I have inside jokes with and makes me laugh uncontrollably half the time.

There is only one way that I can explain this, this is a letter that I was required to write in my english class last year and the topic was my best friend.

Dear Tessa,
You have been such an influence in my life. I have learned many things from you over the years and I would like to let you know just how much you have influenced me. I remember meeting you in seventh grade and right then we were best friends.
I can remember sitting in class and you and I would always find something to laugh about and then when you added in Ali, Adam and Clint into the mix it just got better. Even the pranks that you played on me in eighth grade and the ones I played on you were fun. The musicals that you and I performed in were some of the best memories that I will ever have. You taught me how to keep a straight face even though I wanted to just burst out laughing. I was amazed that you kept such a straight face as I was standing off stage being an idiot trying to make you mess up and you did not. To me that was true dedication.
When we got to high school I thought that I was going to loss you for sure because you were going into the 5R’s academy and I was going to stay with regular classes. I really like how we remained friends through everything that we have done.
Throughout the years we have been through some horrible trials and we managed to get through them with everything still intact and only minor wounds. You have taught me to always live up to my fullest potential and to never settle for less than what I could ever be.
All of the inside jokes have brought me nothing but laughter over the years and I would hope that we would still remain friends for the rest of our lives.
The one thing that I will never forget is you telling me that I was giving up my dreams when I left Canton South to go to Perry when I entered the Medical Prep Program. I am going to attend Youngstown State University to get my bachelor’s degree in musical education, but at the same time I will be taking all of the required courses that are required to get into medical school. When you told me I was giving up my dream of music I was hurt but I have found a way to use music to my advantage. Sure I will have to work harder and do some extra work but I will not let anyone stop me. Tessa you are still my best friend and I will never forget you. I know were are in our senior year but I know that this senior year will be the beginning of the rest of our life.

A best friend is someone, other than family, or a brother sister, or cousin, who I know always has my back. Would always know where I'm coming from when I say something. Agree with me, or disagree if I make a wrong choice about something. My friend would be there to let me know, I'm not doing the right or wrong thing.

You know when you have a best friend when you'll do anything for them, and they'd do the same for you. That's how I've come to know it.

A bestfriend for me is someone who I can trust no matter what. I can tell them anything and they accept me for who I am. Someone who cheers me up when I'm down and is fun to be around. A person who feels like family and you hang out with them all the time. Someone who I can act like my self to and never leaves me hanging on the hardest times.

I just wrote 2 of my good friends letters of how good of a friend they are to me and why and thanked them for bein such good friends. I really wish I wouldve typed em up and saved em on my laptop, but I didnt. But to me a good friend is someone you trust, someone you are willing to call a brother or sister. I trust my best frineds, and I love them, and care for them, and worry about them, and they are the same way with me. A best friend is always there when you need them the most, and are always there if you need to talk, and they understand you.
