This is a venting thread. Beware.

Ok, right off the bat I have to say Radiohead's new album is not only their worst, but also the worst album to ever attempt to be experimental. This starts off with horrible songs, but then develops into songs I consider 'meh'. I wrote a review for the album here. (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?p=1190931#post1190931)
Now I know people are going to say "stop bashing what people like that you don't like", but seriously shut the fuck up. This album is bad. One of the only reasons this is getting good reviews is because it's Radiohead - they made Kid A and OK Computer. Those albums are amazing and universally acclaimed. So because they're Radiohead and the album isn't the same as the previous ones, everyone's just like, "IT'S SO DEEP 10 OUT OF 10 LOL WE SO AVANT GARDE NOW". No. You need to shut the fuck up.
Judge an album with experience on music, the band itself, and not just because they have a name that's known. Has the critics all turned to trolls and/or pussies? Do they not want to put there opinion out or are they really that fucking dense and stupid?
Last year when Kanye West was getting perfect album scores, most of the reviews didn't even talk about his music, but just his controversies. Isn't that enough proof?
I'm going to bash youtube comments now.
Fact: Radiohead's "worst" will still be better than 95% of every other artists "best" efforts.
False. I would say opinion, but how the fuck do you come up with the percentage? This comment is also just very narrow minded too to just say their worst is better than artists best efforts. Compare this to most universally acclaimed albums. Next person.
I love this record. I don't think it's as good as In Rainbows or Ok Computer... but I love how different it is! Quality Radiohead at their best.
There's a difference between different and experimental. I don't think this album was meant to be experimental and even if it was, it's a horrible failed attempt to do so. Oh, but a hipster would probably just say it deserves credit for the effort. The hipster can go get fucked by a pitchfork for all I care.
Oh look at us making off beat tempos and repetitive sounds. HOW EXPERIMENTAL!!!!! No.
I'm sick of people thinking this is experimental based on the electronic sounds too. Why? Because the only concept those people know about electronic music is probably fucking dumb or all they know about it is nothing but dubstep, trance, and house. So they obviously don't know shit about electronic music, thus making Radiohead's electronic sounds not original. So shut the fuck up about the originality. You're fucking offending the huge community of underground electronic artists who make it ten times better then Radiohead do but never get recognized.
Amazing, has a trippy drum n' bass/afro-beat sound! Love it!!
You're fucking stupid.
Upon my first listen, i was strangely disappointed. I've stayed up all night listening to it over and over again, and i can now say that it is one of my favorite albums I have heard in a few years. Crooning, emotional and utterly brilliant. As always, their soundscape is as large as the solar system, and it is gorgeous. It is short, sweet and satisfying. worth a few dozen listens. its weird, in some ways like kid a, but just like kid a in that its fucking awesome
So I did what this person did and listened to the album eight times. I hated it even more each time. First of all, I've never been the type of person who has to listen to an album a few times to get to like it because that means it's something new of a style to my ears or something completely just new to me. This obviously isn't.
I like how this person describes this as a soundscape and it being gorgeous. Thom Yorke could fart in a fucking microphone and you'd probably jerk to it.
It's not gorgeous. There's no good colors for me when I hear this and it's just all very dead and dull. This album isn't 'layered' enough to even have a soundscape. Stop trying to talk like you know what you're saying.
Fuck King Of Limbs. I bet it'll make album of the year for a shit load of sites too. Right when I thought 2011 would be good, Radiohead has to just pull down there pants and piss all over it. Seriously, I can't fucking stand even thinking about Thom Yorke right now and how much I fucking hate him for ruining what could of been an epic year of music with this trololo album that made critics get a hipster boner.
