If the world had to go back to life as it was without electronics, would you be willing to do it? Would you be ABLE to do it?
Personally, I feel like I'm too dependant on my laptop, mp3 player, and cellphone....so that wouldn't work with me.

It depens. Back then they didn't know that this would come into existence. So if you went back in time and no one knew about anything electronical, of course I could live.

We've sort of reached the point where we're incredibly dependent on electronics and technology. If it were all to suddenly disappear overnight, most of the human race would be screwed.

I think, this summer, I'm going to try to cut down on my electronics and spend more time outside with my dog and brother

If I was going back into time and never knew that the future technological advances would exist - I would have one hell of a hard time living in that era.
but
If I went back into time and didn't know about the future - I would be pretty content. Maybe even happier. Technology kinda haves a weird impact on me like if i'm on my laptop to long, I get like super, super, bored and kind of out of my own mind. So yeah, I would be better off...

Condemning modern man for being dependent on electronics is no different than condemning medieval man for being dependent on agriculture. I fail to see the point of this debate.

I'm just asking if people would be able to handle it, or if they wouldn't...not condemning modern man for anything. It's just a hypothetical situation.

Absence of phones and computers: not that big of a deal. I take advantage of it, but it would be no problem for me at least to drop it all. You don't need all those things to survive, let alone to entertain yourself. Try backpacking for a week, I'd rather do that than stay home with my computer and iPod.

I don't mind a phonograph and letters made by typewritters. I can really dig the late 19th century, man.

I think if I lived closer to people then I wouldn't need my phone.

I'm not sure, I could probably survive without my phone, I hardly ever use it. Probably my laptop too, I would just read all the time. But I really don’t think I could survive without my Ipod!

Would I be willing to give it a go? Yes, would be quite interesting to see how society would change with the lack of modern technology.
Would I be ABLE to do it? I think as with making any other big change to someone's lifestyle, it would be quite frustrating to begin with as one of the ways in which I communicate with people would be completely removed. Wouldn't exactly complain at a basic primitive society though. Throw a bit of anarchy in and it would be even better.

I could probably only live without electronics if I never had the memory of using them in the first place. That is how much they influence our lives today. And yes, living without them, although it will have its disadvantages, will have its benefits considering how much time we spend using them.

It techincally depends, i would have my iPod for a while but then it would run out of charge. I don't think I could survive long but as long as I saw my friends regularly i think i could manage it a while.
