It's up to you. If you like the guy go for it. If you don't like him, don't be with him. But if you truly have feelings for him, try to start a relationship with him, and if things don't go well, then they don't go well, some relationships don't always work.

If word gets out that you just went out with him for that, people may say you used him. Have you told a lot of people you had sex? Most people will be fine with it. If some people do start calling you a whore, all you can do is hold your head up high and ignore them. There's many other worse things that could be happen though. You just need to live with the consequences and look at the bright side of it all. :)
