I smoke pot occasionally but this last time sort of made me feel empty and almost depressed. Does that ever happen to anyone else?

Well do you take any meds? Maybe the mixture of your meds, and marijuana is making you feel depressed. That could be it. Usually people don't get depressed when smoking marijuana its supposed to do the opposite.

I just got over a valieum addiction 2 days before smoking and the side effects include depression. But I figured the pot would help me through withdrawal. I did start to feel happy later on. Idk.

Weed isn't a legitimates cure or treatment for depression and a lot of other psychological issues. If you're going through a rough time and you decide to smoke weed, there's a good chance that you'll just be sad and high (whether or not that's a good thing or better, is up to you).

To be honest, it's bound to happen if you go into cannabis with a bad mood/bad feelings in any other way. Just make sure you're happy when you begin and you should be alright.

I sorta did it to forget my worries but I can't just forget. But hey, smoking (tobacco and pot) keeps me from cutting. There's a lot of stress in my house so I think I might stay away from pot for a while. Moms cheating on dad, grandpa is in the hospital with a severe stroke, brother is in heaven, and it's a lot on my plate. I feel like for a 16 year old, I was dealt a shitty hand of cards. :( but I'm not worried. I can make it through all the shit. Now getting drunk, I don't seem to get upset like when I smoke pot. Usually I'm like "whoo!let's party!" So... I know it's not a responsible outlet but if it works ;)
