In the English book im reading in class, which i s called The Chocolate War, there are several discussions about masturbation in the book. When we discuss in class what we had read the previous night, something about sex or masturbation usualy pops up somewhere in the text.
Has this happend to anyone?
how did it make you feel?
personally, idk if it could have been more awkward.

I think sex its one of those things that is only embarrassing while you keep it in your own mind, then the more its talked about the less of an issue it becomes (eventually).
So yeah its embarrassing but people only feel like that because you've got society and parents telling you its 'private' and 'secret'. Which it mostly is, but as a kid I think that just makes you think its also naughty somehow.
My mum used to read to my sister and me and there were some books where sexy stuff came up and that was pretty awkward, because part of me wanted to hear more but in a messed up way I half expected to be told off for hearing it, even though it was mum who was reading it.
Looking back that was probably quite cool because now I am much less embarrased to talk to my parents about sex.

We were doing an prodject in class. It was like if you were Anne Frank and you had to take 5 things in a box with your while leaving your home what would they be? And all the girls said tampons. And thats all we talked about during class...tampons
so yes it was very akward for the guys and the teacher.

People learn to be embarrassed about sex from those they grow up with and the view of society in general, though the general view is weird in so far as talking about your own sexual experience in public is taboo while sexual imagery abounds and is used to sell lots of other products.
I wonder if you were set the book to force you into talking about sex, to force you to break the ice so to speak with the intention it will ultimately make you less embarrassed about it.
